A lovely historic pub right on the Thames , the view from the beer garden is what makes this place so be sure to go when the weather is pleasant.

One of my favourite pubs in the city . Still family owned, they know everyone who walks in. Great food and the quiz on a Monday is great too...all with a garden literally on the river !

This pub is where ex- Lord Chancellor, the ‘hanging’ Judge Jeffries was corned by a mob after the Glorious Revolution of 1688 as he waited for a boat. He was taken to the Tower and later executed.

Really lovely riverside pub serving a mean whitebate. Good selection of wines as well .

Order the delicious Sunday stew , but make sure you do it in advance. They do run out of ingredients when the requests are many.

Though claiming to be the oldest pub on the river , the Ramsgate looks like it had a refurb in the ’70s – all patterned carpet and chunky wood tables.

Retains a locals feel absent in other Wapping pubs . Small outdoor terrace out back, but better to sit inside and admire the historical documents on the walls.

Good drinks lists and the food is disarmingly good. Fishfinger and steak sarnies well worth a try
