What a nice place to take friends, family and visitor. If you go to D.C. Don't forget to go to Thomas Jefferson. I'm a big fan of Thomas Jefferson, I like all his art works, his saying & architectures
The single best monument in the USA. His momentous ambition and is met only by his self-reflection; recognising his laws could one day be barbarous and need modernisation. Jefferson is inspirational.
Another fabulous spot I've shot many weddings. Sunset/dusk the light is perfect for shooting from the steps out to the Monument with the Tidal Basin as backdrop. Be mindful of the rangers ;-)
Another beautiful monument that is a must see for all Americans. My family thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the beauty.
The monument is wonderful, but along with bathrooms and a gift shop , there is also a small museum to Jefferson in the basement of the structure . Check it out.
Beautiful memorial with lake views and a reflection pool. Be sure to read all the great writings!
Beautiful place to be during the summer nights. If you look directly across the Potomac River , where the Jefferson statue looks towards the water, you can see the White House directly across.
This memorial if ur lazy u might miss it cuz its a walk kind of out of the way of the rest but I think of the prettiest right off the water and u see all the other monuments so pretty from here
Public transportation and cabs are hard to come by here. Beautiful site, with a view of the White House , from the top of the steps. Walk from here to the MLK Memorial if you are looking for a cab.
Tourists always forget about this beautiful place because it's a little bit aside from other monuments , but you MUST see it, I'm 100% sure
Make sure to check out the bookstore and exhibits under/below the monument . Bathrooms available there too.
The most beautiful cardinal point in the Washington Mall . The Jefferson statue is magnificent and the excerpts on the walls catch his spirit.
Be sure to tour inside the memorial and downstairs to visit the educational displays.
One of my favorite quotes of all time on changing government.
Two words: Cherry blossoms . In April, this national monument is set among fields of gorgeous pink flowers . Read more

A humbling place. Be sure to read all the inscriptions.

Don't miss this--especially at sundown. You will get some great photos.
Great monument with a spectacular view . Take a few moments to sit on the marble steps.
Stunning memorial. You made the effort to come here. Make sure to read the words on the walls.
Take the tour from Bike the Sites and ride your bike right up to the steps. Lots of fun and you easily explore all the monuments in less time than it takes walking or bussing.
Nicknamed "Jefferson's Muffin ." Domed shape bldg is based upon a structure of Jefferson’s own design. Transcript error was noted on Declaration of Independence quote in 1972. More site info via<LINK> Read more
Read the walls in the main hall. Then think about where we are as a country now. Very different language being spoken. Love this place.
Sit down and read his words. Always a good visit after dark, too.
One of my preferred memorial in Washington DC ! Superb!

I didn't get to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom but even then the monument is beautiful!
My favorite monument in DC. Super quiet with very few people every time I go. Plus it looks like the Pantheon in Rome
This is a bit out of the way being on the backside of the Basin - but is a must see monument .
The building really captures the import of the man, and how critical he was to shaping our early government.
Especially awesome at sunrise / sunset . Take a run and finish up there!
Designed by John Russell Pope , the Memorial was built between 1939 and 1943. The bronze statue of Jefferson, added in 1947, is 19ft tall and weighs 10,000lbs.
The best spot to view it is from the paddle boat basin. In summer, rent the boat & paddle around the lake . It's beautiful!
It is a major component of the city 's monumental plan. Noted work of multiple architects such as John Russell Pope , Otto R. Eggers and Daniel P. Higgins, and F.L. Olmsted Jr.
go here at night, with the moon reflecting off the water. ask a friend to waltz with you on the marble--it feels magical, like you're dancing at a palace . the security guards may laugh and give advice

Amazing view . Unfortunately didn't had chance to visit during cherry blossoms
Beautiful. Ride bikes and drop off right near the monument
Built by the Irish in 1677. It surely stands the test of time. And continues to teach the lesson that Jefferson was a giant man.
This memorial to Jefferson is simply stunning!
Take a moment to read all the quotes and reflect.
Make this your last stop and check it out at night. He looks out over the Tidal Basin for some great night-time shots.
There's a great view of the capital from the building
Nice dome with memorial statue .

Take a stroll around the basin and see it around dusk, absolutely beautiful
Did you know? This memorial's designer, John Russell Pope , had originally drawn up plans (and was turned down) for a memorial to Theodore Roosevelt for this same location.
