Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial

I was there for the dedication ceremony and that was very special. Visited again and the feeling of looking at this larger than life statue is truly a sight to behold. Everyone should visit.

This is an incredible monument to visit as a family. It helps to make the legacy of MLK more real for the younger children in your family.

It is a very very tall monument ... Must see the beautiful carving. Also, great view of the back side of the Lincoln memorial. The trolley just drop some visitors...so, it is not too late.

My fiancé & I took an evening date trip to DC from Baltimore & decided to do some Capital sightseeing...at 10pm lol

Spectacular and impressive. This man changed my life. Make sure you follow around the lake to the FDR Memorial.

Five years later and still I'm awed by the statue of #MLK. The Smithsonian was pretty awesome as well .

MLK memorial is great at night and will be nearly empty, allowing you to take in its size.

This is a must see when your in. D.C. remember this is kind of like a memorial. Respect it and act with class . Don't do a club pose on the statue !

My best advice is to come here with a clear mind. That is the only way to experience the fullness of what this memorial reall means.

A place that should humble every American and force us to question whether each of us is doing enough to further the common good.

Mary was a great ranger. Friendly and helpful.

Check out the Stone of Hope. It's a 30 foot statue of Dr. King looking out into the horizon.

Just heard a dad tell his daughter that this is the monument for the greatest man that ever lived. She asked if he was president and he replied, "No, he wasn't president but he was a great man"
