Great memorial, only disappointed in the people who thought they could dip their feet and bodies in the water, it's not a public pool! No park serv. Rep. to monitor

This is my great-grandfather, who is a WWII vet, standing in front of the memorial. He is 98 1/2. He thought the memorial was great.
Amazing, full of history, very well kept and just in the middle between Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial
Shake hands of veterans and their families! It's a privilege to experience amazing feelings of pride. Listening to their stories makes you literally appreciate what you have. One said: "I was lucky!"

As long as there aren't undisciplined children running around, this is probably my favorite of the memorials on the Mall . Come anytime sunset or after for the best experience.
Gorgeous monument dedicated to those who served. Great views of DC. Fun to find your state and snap a picture!
A beautiful monument to commemorate one of the most trying times in world history. Very tastefully executed.

States not sorted based on the Pacific and Atlantic sections. Think about it: where would Illinois fit into that categorization? The pillars represent the Pacific and European battles.
A great place to take in some history, appreciate our servicemen, and do some people watching !

Quite the tribute to those who served during WWII - you'd be remiss if you skipped this memorial!
Amazing vantage points at day or night. See it at both times!
A beautiful solemn memorial that features unique columns honoring the war dead from each state .
Check out the marker for the state of Florida. It's easily the coolest one at the memorial.
This memorial is best seen at night. The lighting is beautiful, the stars breathtaking and thought evoking.
This memorial is one of the more recent ones, if you haven't visited the area in the past 10 years or so.
Check it out at any time of the day. It is awe-inspiring to walk around and see everything that went into building it.
Best monument for when you want to seriously reflect on American values operationalized through history.
Beautiful memorial. Definitely worth a visit if you’ve never been.

The reliefs on the walls in the entrance tell the story of the war at home and abroad.

Magic arrives here when the sun departs.
Surreal backdrop for night shooters (challenging for the novice) and great perspective views on the Mall anytime of day.
A beautiful monument , though I don't think it is as poignant as other war memorials.
If it's really hot you can stick your feet in the fountain and not get in trouble
A touching memorial. I enjoyed walking around it and reading the different history signs.
The marble is slick- don't fall in front of a ton of people- may or may not be speaking from experience.
It’s extra gorgeous at sunset !
