Chee cheong fun (steamed rice roll ). Handmade Chee Cheong Fun #02-33 sells these light bites w usual char siew (BBQ pork ) or prawn fillings, to exotic smoked salmon or liver sausage . Acquired taste
Delicious Soft Food: Cantonese Fish Porridge . Fish meat cooked this way could be mashed by spoon easily to more tiny bits and mixed in the Cantonese-style porridge to eat / drink after tooth surgery.
Lei cha from lei da ma shop is good and reasonably priced ($4.50 for lei cha with brown rice ). They sell meat items, so be sure to request for vegetarian if you wish to have a veg meal! :)
Yong tau foo . Ming Ming Yong Tau Fu #02-37 offers a wide selection of items. Soup base is tasty too. 40-cents per item, very affordable . Operated by elderly couple, stall sells rojak too :-)
Wantan mee . Popular M'sian style Yap Kee WTM shifted here fr Clementi. Good review by ieatishootiblog, stating that noodles specially sourced fr JB
Mee siam . Probably the food centre's best kept secret. Surprised by serving from Auntie Lily #02-01. Gravy was thick & flavourful, with the right balance of sweet-sour. Generous egg slices for $2.50
Blanco court kwaychap is better of the two stalls here, worth a try. Hakka Yongtaufu noodles and Malaysian wanton noodles are both pretty decent as well . Olive fried rice by vegetarian stall good too!
Claypot rice . Our $25 pot from New Lucky Claypot Rice #02-18 was just nice for 4 adults. Rice had a nice crispy burnt layer. Chinese sausage & salted fish bits added authenticity ????????
Ice kacang. Enjoyed a bowl prepared by Hot & Cold Dessert #02-11. Not overly sweet with just the right amount of rose syrup . Generous ingredients incl ‘atap chee’. $1.80 per bowl
Breakfast set . Lixin Drink Stall #02-22 serves a respectable set of strong local coffee (kopi) & crisp toast (with kaya & butter slice). $2.50 for 1 piece of toast , $3 for two
Nasi goreng ayam penyet . Feast on this upsized version from Aini Muslim Food #02-14. Fried chicken was very marinated with distinguishing yellow ginger aromas. $5.50 for this platter which can feed 2
YTF. Tried Fifty Year Yong Tao Fu #02-37. Opted for $5.50 bowl with 8 pcs, so that I cd sample more items. Some unique items like meatball . Noodles were tossed in an aromatic sauce
Vegetarian options : specialty vegetarian , prata , fried carrot cake , yong tau foo , chee cheong fun , thunder tea rice , rojak , buns , gado dado, baos , rice with veges
Hakka yong tau foo . The Hakka Noodle #02-15 served by stall with it's namesake is actually YTF. Fixed set of items
Grated coconut from #01-42. $3 for 500g (slightly more than a coconut ) with the brown skin — typically to extract coconut milk ; $4 with skin removed, when used for more presentable kuehs ????
Fishball noodles : Locals zero in on Ru Ji Kitchen #02-28 when they want their tasty noodles , pungent chilli & bouncy fishballs. A tad too much MSG though :-( U can't miss d long q on weekends
Sarawak Kolo Mee & YTF (5 items $4.70). Sampled YTF-noodle combo @ Lao Chen Ji #02-43. YTF filling was generous but bland; lots of fried items; aromatic gravy with noodles ; chilli sauce very spicy !
Nasi lemak with fried chicken ($5.50). Set A from Madam Lim’s #02-01. Fluffy fragrant rice . “Ayam berempah” has crispy , aromatic & spicy batter. Juicy inside. Sambal chilli not overly sweet.
Roasted meats . Affordable & tender char siew (BBQ pork ) & sio bak (roasted pork ) from Leong Wei #02-36. Their regulars order classic double-boiled soups as well
One of my fav breakfast : Vegetarian Bee Hoon at Zhen Ji Vegetarian 珍记斋 #02-26. Cheap , tasty and generous serving !
Laksa . Head for Noodle House #02-18. Previously called Lian Hua. Laksa base was tasty (a bit salty), with lots of dried shrimp texture. Ingredients could be more generous though :-P
Kopi. Gave the same order to Lixin #02-22 (left) & Mei Xiang #02-06: kopi-O kosong 'di lok' (undiluted). Lixin's brew was thicker, more bitter & aromatic
Braised duck rice . Cheng Heng #02-05 serves dry, lifeless duck meat . It doesn't help impressions further that their soup is just a mix of kway chap broth & 'lor' (soy sauce stew ) fr their main pot
Lor Mee . Ji Li #02-34 prepares a comforting bowl. The 'lor' was smooth & tasty. Generous portions , including a whole egg for $3
Penang char kway teow (fried flat rice noodles ). Surprised to find this style from an even unassuming stall name Sweet Bistro #02-24. Decent though not very authentic
Chai tow kway . Very crumbly offering fr Traditional Carrot Cake #02-20. Didn't taste much of white radish or 'chai por'
Level 1 is the wet market , selling seafood , frozen pork , vegetables , fruits & dried goods. Found stalls selling spices & ornamental plants too
Hainanese curry rice . Aunty Lily #02-01 prepares home-style dishes. Pork chop is not the crispy style; lean. Enjoyed the mushy stewed cabbages
Yutiao (fried dough fritters ). Ah Kiew Snack House #02-17 fries them fresh & light. Enjoyed it with a cup of kopi
3 parking areas around the market/food ctr: 2 along Holland Drv (before & after mkt), and the other one can be accessed from North Buona Vista Rd (in direction of Dover Rd)
Handmade chee cheong fun stall is really smooth and yummy. Ruyi bak chor mee forever long queue for its tasty noodles .
What a difference renovation made to this hawker centre. It is brighter, with higher ceiling and feels so much better. Good job NEA!
Lo Chan Kee wanton noodle (广东云吞面)personally find that the noodle is abit "hard" unless u guys like chewy noodle .. Mushroom is a must n chicken feet ????
Looking for powdered spices? Found a well-organised shop on level one. GV Spice House #01-17. Friendly folks too
Nasi lemak . Shiok serving from Aini Muslim Food #02-14. Good value at $3 for this serving, including 3 pieces of fried ikan kuning. Chilli not overly sweet. Rice cd be more fragrant. Wd order again

There's an established stall selling a wide variety of ornamental plants. Good value too
Banana leaves . #01-46 sells pre-cut banana leaves , if u ever need some (eg. baking kuehs)
Lots of good food! Great variety, reasonable prices!
Not a dinner spot. Almost all stalls closed except the claypot rice
Shimas Kitchen...the food is really malay food..cheap and very delicious..
Halal bakery . MR Bakery #02-30 sells home- and factory-made breads & pastry
Ru Ji Kitchen has great Chilli sauce that makes their noodles NICE!
New Lucky Claypot rice #02-19 has peak period waiting time 45-90min! Worth a try
Long queues at Cheng Heng Kway Chap and Shima's Kitchen for lunch . Surprisingly, New Lucky Claypot Rice wasn't crowded at lunch hour.
Food mecca for local folks. Market on 1st floor & food centre on 2nd floor. Another way round compared to others FC.
Best vegetarian bee hoon in town . Portion is huge, it's tasty and cheap !
Love the economy bee hoon but beware of unfriendly store owners, prepare what you want in mind to avoid being given the evil eye ...
The stall selling fish soup near the main entrance sells fish roe too! But it's not on the menu and you'll have to ask them for it. Costs $1 extra!
