This lighthouse is unlike your usual. More like an oil derrick with a light on top. Renovated in 2013 to its original beauty from 1880s. The symbol of Sanibel.
Low tide to find the best shells . Wade in the water and pick them up. But check carefully....if they are alive or are a home for a hermit crab gently return it to the ocean.
Locals say it is a great place to fish for sharks by boat, but we caught none the day we were there. Great view of beaches and nice breeze.

Gorgeous beach ! White sand , conch shells washing up, dolphins swimming in the distance. Well worth making a trip here.

Decent shelling , light surf , TONS OF DEAD FISH =/.. but like I said, the shelling good, also, it's a GREAT bike ride to get there.
