Texas Chili Parlor

Since 1976, the kitchen's been serving good burgers , Tex-Mex, and, of course, chili of all varieties (XXX, veggie , Frito , etc.). Tarantino devotees will note TCP as a 'Death Proof' filming location.

Too much of a good thing is a VERY GOOD thing here! Second time here in two days, my newest addiction. If you order the combo get the queso , guacamole and chili , mix all three and fall in love!

Enchiladas covered in your choice of amazing chili with melt in your mouth large chunks of beef . Throw the diet out the window ...go enjoy this Austin institution before it's gone too. Atmosphere YES!

Good food, fairly priced ! If you haven't been there in a while, do it! It's a fun place!

Loaded Nachos , Real Texas No Bean Chili , Waygu Burgers (when available) and cold beer in honest to God bottles. Close to the Capitol and moderately priced . What's not to love?

This was a great lunch ! The XX was a LOT spicier than I expected. Favorite was the black Bean chili (they were out of white chili ). Fun place. Kids all enjoyed it.

Great food! The 3X chili is really spicy , the first chili I've ever had where I didn't have to add Tabasco ! Good salsa ! It's got a good vibe here.

Love the Wednesday Enchilada Special. Go early because they run out.

Hit the spot. Got medium chili , sautéed veggies and a house salad with caesar.

Reasonably priced meals I had steak and enchilada plate cost was only $8.95. Get a cheese enchilada 6 ounce New York strip and rice .

Austin Classic. Go for the XXX chili which is awesome, but expect to pay the price tomorrow. They also have some basic Mexican fare.

The chili is good. I like spice and the XX was spicy enough for me. I can't imagine what the XXX is like though.

2 star chili with added jalapenos was plenty hot. Next time I'll try the 3 star. Mad Dog marata's were awesome!

I like my food a little bit spicy , but the XX-spicy was a bit too much for me. Will get the X-mild chili next time. Chili dog was super good BTW!

The Wednesday special is Chicken Enchiladas ! Awesomeness every time I go.

The burgers and the chili were great!

Wanted to love this institution, but when it took 1 hour to bring the queso , the chili was below room temp (and not that great), and they bungled half the order, I couldn’t show love. Cheap n fun tho

You might remember this iconic eatery/dive bar from Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Death Proof.’ Order up some hot chili and a cold beer , but don’t ask for Lone Star. You won’t get it here.

Ask 'em if you can try the Venison chili , it's about as hit as the 2x. Not too hot really but super tasty!

Get the habanero chili if you like spicy . Also, skip straight to the XXX red.

now serving migas ! Never thought of eating chili and migas but I must say it was delish!

The beef fajita grande burrito covered in queso was amazing. The beef was extremely tender!

Never had the pork chop , but they make a SUPERB mess out of a potato ! Try the XX on a spud ! Have the ranch dressing ... it'll cool the palate!

You cannot go wrong with the black bean and sausage chili !

Get the small frijto pie ! It's huge. Try it with mustard !
