The configuration of the Kīholo Scenic Point has changed; the “Kona” entrance/exit is permanently closed and is now a cul-de-sac. Use the “Kohala” side for access and mind the fast-moving traffic.
Be sure to stop when driving by after dark ... the stars are magnificent. You won't see the Milky Way like this back on the mainland.
