Plaza de Cibeles

In the middle of the square there is a fountain named after Cybele, a Phrygian goddess who had a significant cult in Rome. The fountain depicts the goddess , sitting on a chariot pulled by two lions.

This plaza houses one of Madrid's emblems, the Fountain of Cibeles.. On the southeast corner dominating the Plaza is one of the world's most beautiful city halls , the Palacio de Cibeles.

Go inside the town hall ! (Big building with Refugees Welcome sign currently on it). There's a great exhibit going on, modern photography , there's an observation deck, and it's beautiful on the inside.
