Incredible collection of modern masterpieces from Spanish artists like Dali, Miro and Picasso, and many other world greats. Visit the courtyard to see a larger than life mobile from Calder

David A

Excellent collection of modern art housed in a architecturally significant building. Picasso, Miro and Dali are featured. If you go early on a weekend, you will have the place to yourself.

Matt Hanson

Great and manageable selection of modern & modernist art classics. Crowned with Guernica, the selection of weeping women & sketches by Picasso, along with 3 dancing women, are astounding.

RAKAN

Nice museum with a great collection of history and art ???? free entry after 6 pm ✨outside better than inside ????

Minji Lee

This museum has such a diverse selection of art pieces and exhibitions . It's difficult not to get lost in the halls and easily lose track of your day here. Check out the beautiful terrace !

Witold Donwito

Huge museum , but if you are a moderate fan of modern art and only want to see "the classics", come after 7pm (free entrance) and go directly to 2nd floor, skipping all the rest.

Y Kint

Do this exercise: forget your phone and dive into contemporary art . The collection is AMAZING. Some of the most important contemporary arts are here. Don’t leave Madrid without visiting it! ✨????????

eric bornemann

Amazing museum - allow at least half a day to immerse yourself in the recent turbulent history of Spain via many different artistic movements. Guernica and La Movida are obvious highlights.

Valery Usenko

A must visit museum while being in Madrid alongside with Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum . Mostly Spanish art of 20th century with lots of Dalí, Picasso, Miro. Lovely courtyard .

Brittney

Take time to read why Guernica was created (as part of the Spanish Republic's exhibit at the 1937 World's Fair , in Paris) - then look around nearby rooms to see & understand what else was shown there.

Adam Ross

This is one of the best galleries I have ever been too. We were lucky enough to visit when there was a Picasso exhibition . The contemporary art collection is particularly excellent.

Noah Weiss

A treasure chest of Picasso and Dali paintings , including Guernica. The newly renovated and expanded architecture is an interesting old palace meets industrial vibe.

Bianca Navarro Bowman

Awesome modern art museum . Enough exhibits that something will pique your interest! Famous Spanish works housed here. Definitely worth a visit!

Steven Androphy

A great art museum on par with the Prado, but without the crowds. Don't miss Guernica or the great Dalí collections.

Clau????

It might take a long queue for you to buy your entry ticket but just to see Dalí, Picasso and Miró masterpieces is very worth it! Don't miss "La Guarnica" by Picasso on the 2nd Floor.

Martin Zürn

Free entry in the last hours - and all day for students under age of 25. If you want to see everything, you have to spend at least half of the day. Closes at 9pm.

Cristian Gonzalez

Excellent modern art museum . Filled with Spanish masters such as Picasso and Dali , it's a must see spot in Madrid. Don't forget to check out Guernica.

Ged Carroll

My favourite museum in Madrid , more modern art and great photographic of Franco era Spain

Leo Zimmer Saldanha

Stunning museum . A lot of Picasso and Miró paintings , really worth the visit. The mix between the traditional construction and the modern architecture is beautiful.

Ann Osipova

I expected more of this museum , the collection is not super impressive but it is still worth visiting. Free admission is on Sunday from 13:00.

Jovi Jov

Review the map carefully beforehand and plan where you will go. Many things to see so use your time wisely and choose where you wish to be accordingly. Esto Museo es MUCHO GRANDE y muho cosas tambien!

Sophie Chung

Students always have free admission with ID! Don't leave without seeing Guernica, but check out the other modern exhibits as well if you have time. The courtyard and building are gorgeous too.

Vicki Kolovou

Gorgeous museum architecturally , that houses masterpieces in a way that constantly educates and intrigues. I wish the cafe area was kept a little cleaner.

Esra

It is priceless to see the town of Guernica in the Basque region and see the Picasso painting in this museum .

Marcia Peña

Come here to see the beautiful Guernica by Picasso, but don't plan on taking a picture of it because you can't do that here either. Only pictures of the art no one remembers is allowed.

Marina

Such an amazing space and a brilliant collection. Free entry 1.30-7 on Sundays, don't be put off by the queue - it moves quickly

Ashok Fernandez

Incredible value for 8€, the place is huge so set aside a good few hours to get through it all

Masha Krupskaya

very cool place! not one you can walk through swiftly though. "New" building has some very interesting exhibitions so make sure to check out those.

Matthias

Free days include the International Museum Day, Mondays – Fridays from 7 pm to 9 pm, Saturdays from 2:30 pm to 9 pm, Sundays from 10 am to 2:30 pm, 18th of April, 12th of October and 6th of December.

Adley

Amazing gallery space! It was a hospital in the past. Highlight is a Guernica by Pablo Picasso.

Luxos Magazine

The museum houses a collection of 20th century art , with masterpieces by artists like Picasso, Miró, Dalí, Braque. However the most important piece in the entire museum is Picasso's Guernica... Read more

Vanessa Rueda

An amazing collection of contemporary art . Prepare your heart and soul, beautifully curated for those who love conceptual languages

Diogo Souza

Awesome museum , the 2nd floor is the best (with the most famous paintings/painters).

Mateusz Kmita

Huge gallery with plenty of various art periods. Guernica is a must there.

Natasha Buckham

Best of the three big museums in Madrid . So so much on offer. If you are more a fan of contemporary art then this is for you

Coco Cat

If you choose to go when there is free entrance, you may need to revisit the museum , as there may not be enough time to see the paintings .

Andrew Welch

More compelling than the nearby Prado. I have spent hours staring at Picasso's Guernica that memorializes the bombing of the village of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War.

Wynn Wu

There are two ticket offices . The one on the side with the new extension is empty and very fast if you're not looking to see Dali. Dali tickets are for entry at certain times also.

Moises Mattout

Lots of painting floor 1 or Picasso and other great artist try also floor 4 for the view

Amy Robertson

Amazing contemporary art and sculpture . Free every evening (but hard to see all the sculptures after dark)

Kesra Pen

The building itself is a great piece of collections. You might need more than 5 hours to deepdive into surrealizm.

Petr Bela

Home to perhaps the most famous Spanish painting , Guernica, as well as arts by Dalí and other Spanish painters .

Elias Romano

A must if you’re in madrid . The Guernica is mandatory

Eduardo Yoshikawa

Modern and Contemporary Art , paintings of Miró, Pablo Picasso. Famous Guernica painting .

Finn B

There usually is a long line for the free entry between 7-9 pm. But people don't know that there is another entry at the back with almost no queue at Ronda de Atocha. Shhh, don't tell anyone.

Scott Allan

Great collection of Dalí and Picasso on the second floor!

Jole P

Beautiful architecture and a mix of art eras. Also where Guernica is so a must see

Hong-Ling Chi

Your trip will not be complete if you haven't been here. The permanent collection incl Dali and Picasso are a must see!
