Amazing beach . If you stay at the Westin it tends to have a lot of people but it's a huge beach so it doesn't feel super crowded .
Book all events thru Toni at the tours & activity desk just off the beach . She is wonderful.
Buy a snorkel and mask. Better deal than renting even if for a day. Reefs just off the break. Fish everywhere.
Rent scuba gear at Maui Dive just next to Tropica. 8 bucks a day for quality gear. Walk down to black rock and enjoy.

This is the best ocean. It is the largest (although it is getting smaller) & the fish in this ocean are awesome (especially in Hawaii). However, there is seismic and volcanic activity around the ocean - Andy Utley
