One of the oldest cafe 's in Vienna. If you like cake and coffe , this is the place for you. The cake selection is great and super delicious! Coffe is also really good! But prepare to wait for a table.
Definitely the most authentic coffee place in Vienna. Must tries, the Einspänner coffee and this small delicious bomb of taste, the "Peanuts Karamell". In every to do list in Vienna, this place.
Café Central is a coffeehouse first, but serves traditional Austrian food for lunch . The grand interior displays its palace setting to perfection, with a classical pianist serenading diners. Read more
Waited in line for five minutes for a table on a Saturday evening but the experience more than made up for that. Attentive/accommodating waiters . Try the Altenberg tort for cake ! ❤️ the live piano .
Classic atmosphere with a luxury touch. They have great variety of dessert and drink selections, and we also loved the soup and tore pancakes with plum sauce . Arrive before 5pm for live piano music !
Truly enjoyable experience in one of Vienna's authentic coffeehouses , allow some time for the expected long queues or just come a bit early in the morning for a wonderful classic Viennese breakfast .
Cafes , piano music , cakes , tasty, but it's place only for tasty sweets and good for small groups. Overcrowded, book a table in advance. No chance to eat for vegetarians
A classic viennese café , a must-visit in Vienna. Super touristic , so try to reserve a table in advance and ask to be seated inside for the full experience. Desserts here are amazing!
The ambience and the service is good. Food is wonderful. Try the boiled beef and all the coffees . Do make a reservation before going as there's a queue for lunch even in winter. Pretty family friendly
The most beautiful historic cafe in Wien; beautiful vaulted arches; touristy place; good food; fair prices ; usually you have to qeue at the entrance; kind service ; no wi-fi, parking or smoking;
You definitely have to go here if you're visiting Vienna. It's a lovely experience and a great place for afternoon tea . Once you're at a table go up and pick your cake from the decadent selection!
Stunning interior, great service & fast to be seated despite the queue out the door! This was a perfect balance of flavour & sweetness in this little Peanut Brittle Caramel Creme Brûlée bomb! Yum ????
Photo: minced deer patties with chestnuts and cabbage roll , chestnut soup with goose ravioli , wiener schnitzel , cream cake with cinnamon and plum , warm chocolate cake , puff pastry with vanilla cream
Beautiful environment, once you have a table (likely after a short wait ) you can escape with coffee and food. The peanut Caramel was amazing. Pancakes also delicious.
One of the best places to spend your time in Vienna. This cafe is amongst the oldest in this city , really keeping the vibe of the old times. Try the desserts and the Wiener melange.Definitely worth it
Cute and chill atmosphere, often crowded (you'll have to stand in a line to get in), but the place is really worth it. Besides, prices are totally honest despite its wide fame.
The café has amazing interior design . The coffee is good and also the pies and croissant . I like the place a lot.
I went on a Wednesday night so thankfully we weren’t waiting a long.It has various sweets which you can choose..The interior was great and also it has a live piano ..
Delicious Rindgulash is highly recommended. Beautiful welcoming atmosphere with relaxing piano melody and well dressed , gentle waiters . Another piece of art at the heart of the city :)
The place is beautiful. It was the best breakfast I’ve ever had. There are a lot of desserts was delicious. The service was amazing. The food is delicious ???? I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU TO COME HERE
Delicious food and desserts . Soups and steak tartare are amazing! Service is not included in the bill. Live classic music in the evenings. A must in Vienna!
Sacher cake , apfelstrudel with viena coffee and house white wine . Clasical combination but everything was really delicious and the place has an amazing atmosphere.
Amazing! Great vibe inside, beautiful decor, and live music on the piano. Just one thing; it's quite overpriced and the service could be better. Just get coffee instead of actual food.
Great ambiance especially with live piano music . Disliked the apple strudel ; it had aftertastes of rum in it. Looking back, we should have tried the other pastries
Worth the wait! (There is always a line but it’s well worth it.) Delightful treats and breakfasts ????
Sachertorte is amazing. Cool interior for a romantic date . But so many people. They have a few "food" items in the menu, but main point is different cakes and coffee .
Delightfully! Atmosphere, cakes are chic and luxurious . Attentive waiters . Mousses are great and gluten-free, that is really good. Hot chocolate is cooking from real cocoa . Best cafe in my life :)
Schnitzel and apfelstrudel is recommended but the other desserts on display (real work of art ) also stand a chance. You will definitely want to add them to the list in this marvellous ambiance..
One of #mustsees. Cappuccino tasted more like filter coffee to me.many tourists . You have to wait in line to get in when it’s crowded . Very busy waiters so you might need to wait to pay.
Amazing coffee and the best Mohr im Hemd in the city . The food is to die for should you decide to splurge and eat a meal there. The live piano player starts at 18:00 already. Vienna must do. Must!
A classic Viennese establishment. You wait in line for a while but once you get in: gorgeous interior, perfect desserts and proper service. Kaiserschmarrn is awesome and big enough for two
Authentic ambience and cozy historic interior. Warm chocolate cake was amazing, coffee was a huge disappointment though, tasted absolutely horrible. Come before 11am to avoid long queues.
Great place with good food. We tried the schnitzel , the fried chicken , potato soup , and beef dumplings . They all tasted good. Make a reservation to avoid the long queue.
The queue can look long, but it does move fast and it is well worth the wait. Cakes , pastries and coffee are just divine!
Very nice and touristy experience. Try to book your reservation online before going instead of staying in a long waiting line outside.
We ate apfelstrudel and chocolate cake and we drank snaps with plum and raspberry . The chocolate cake is a must but don’t go for these drinks
The personnel was professional and paid attention to our questions. The veal liver and the schnitzel were excellent. So was the almond and orange cake . Highly recommendable.
Unfortunately all the deserts on the menu (except the pancakes ) has alcohol/pork gelatin ..so I ordered the lemon tart and it was amazing????
Try the zitronen-tarte for dessert with Viennase coffee ( melange ) - nice atmosphere ( relax and enjoy the oldest Vienna cafe )
Stunning cakes and desserts , and the pumpkin soup was delicious. Worth queuing to get in, even if only for the beautiful interior .
another amazing venue for great desserts ! service was a bit slow and seemed to be uncoordinated but the food and drinks didn't disappoint! Definitely a must stop on your to do list.
Let your mind travel back in time in this beautiful traditional Viennese cafe . Exquisite pastries and incredible atmosphere.
The oldest cafe in town with the best schnitzel and cakes , loved everything there , I give it 9/10
Really crowded but still a relaxing atmosphere . Don't be scared if you see a long line outside. Waiting time is short and once seated you will appreciate that you waited!
"Melange, a Viennese specialty drink modeled after the popular cappuccino , is their signature drink , and tastes as good as their décor looks...it’s a great way to wash down...world-famous strudel ."
Imagine you are drinking coffee next table to Freud in 1900s Vienna. This is like that. But tourists spoil everything.
I mean, it's sure worth to visit for the sake of history, but... If you want something delicious better find another place. Here - just take smth that will let you sit and enjoy the atmosphere
A true classic coffee house and Viennese feel when you can avoid the tourists . Cakes are reasonably priced, coffee is worth it (oddly enough).
Authentic atmosphere, amazing desserts and good coffee . Would definetely recommend the Kaiserschmarrn. Come here to experience Vienna.
Highly recommended the Weiner Erdäpfelsuppe (Potato with Mushroom & Bacon soup ). Ideal as a lighter meal, full of flavour - leaves room for strudel later. ;)
I love this cafe ! Everything is fresh and yum ! They have the best cakes in town ❤️ I give it 10/10 ???? - Dr.Reham Gary
The pastries and coffees are out of the world! Also, have the chicken salad, unusually crunchy and tangy! - Arun Krishnan
Huge monumental building. Must see if in Vienna. Better to go up the tower to get a view on the city center - Julia Kryvomaz
great and central spot for all your architectural, gastronomic and apparel cravings. always worth a visit, even if it's just to stroll around. - Matthias R.
Worth going in to see the apartments and story of Elizabeth. Silver collection is large but a bit boring. - Alex Smith
