Love the charming theme and great cocktails . Went for Wednesday steak night and it was delicious. Skinny fries were yummy too. Service was super slow last night. Hope it doesn't happen again!

Beautifully moody & sombre atmosphere, great list of Gin cocktails , liquid nitrogen bar and the most delectable food. The service was good. The food and wine was divine. Highly recommend it.

My God, the food is good. And totally unrecognisable from its American diner origins. Scampi - amazing; mac and cheese - awesome (although penne not mac); succotash - great; maple bacon - too salty :(

Heather Noonan-Hargroves

Specialised cocktails and jazz . Tucked away, it's loud and lively , dark and fun. Food was delicious if a little overpriced (small bowl of fries was $10, even smaller bowl of chips was $8)

The two Japanese inspired cocktails are fabulous. Others on menu - including signature sorbet cocktail - is much too sweet for my liking. Duck liver parfait was excellent.

Cindy Hung

Organised Hens' cocktail class there and highly recommended. Super charismatic staff , great accommodating service. Unforgettable experience.

Geoff Kim

Home of the world's first 'liquid nitrogen bar trolley'. Anything on the cocktail menu is a little bit awesome but start with the hearty Graduate if it's your first time.

Matthew Kitson

Fantastic place. Awsome and friendly staff . Amazing cocktails and food. And met some kewl people there to. Recommend the mess around. :D

Kunal Mirchandani

They do great cocktails with 'dark' spirits . You could never go wrong with their 'old fashioned '.

The "John Wayne" cocktail comes with bacon !

Steak night. First one was cold. Second one had loads of inedible parts. Collard greens were almost inedibly hard and raw. Ok fries . Any green peppercorns in my sauce?! AVOID for food. Cocktails ok.

Cocktails served in glass guns and hip flasks? Check. BarChick approves http://barchick.com/find-a-bar/sydney/the-roosevelt

Mad-scientist-style cocktails are made using such ingredients as liquid nitrogen . Try the Martini of Tomorrow.

My new favourite cocktail bar because Phil and Barry are there. Goodbye EDV  love Phil's magical sorbet cocktail

Re-imagined 1,3 and 4 are really strong - you might get drunk with one cocktail !

Amazing cocktails ! Bread & Butter is a favourite

Good cocktails but sad that everything that made this place special is now gone. No mixing at the table. No special glasses. Like a regular bar these days.

Order a drink made with liquid nitro and revel in your own yuppiness.

This new bar harks back to the days in Kings Cross when dinner and drinks meant something more than a taco and a shot. Read more

The cocktails and the atmosphere

Jason Denny

Outrageous cocktails and a real 1920's vibe

J

Unfortunately the quality of the drinks have declined significantly. The steak is really chewy and overcooked.

Mixy Lorenzo

Holy shit. What an amazing menu!

Jerome T

Good cocktails but soooooo slow. > 40 minutes for my first drink and counting. Poor understaffed workers

Aaron Baril

Mini Gruyere soufflés . Omg.

Fantastic speakeasy with great cocktail selection and friendly bartenders. Creative cocktail list but even better to give your bartender free reign. Only downside: too many suits ordering Stellas - Carmen Sutter

Pure awesome. Best for rainy days; it takes you all the way to.. Canada? A bit noisy but cozy and nice for a catch up. Get in early or be ready to queue. - Vicky Machinan

Swinging gin bar with live acid jazz band on Thurs. Seasonal cocktails menu, try the Pimm's and Shave & Tonic (G&T twist). $50 haircuts are pricey but come with friendly professionalism house beer. - Dennis Le
