Old State Capitol

Truly one of the most surreal historical locations in the country . Abraham Lincoln gave his "House Divided" speech in the House of Reps room and spent many years here practicing law.

This portrait of George Washington has hung prominently in the House of Reps room since the 1840s. It looked over the body of Abraham Lincoln who was laid here before being buried at Oak Ridge.

A good stop to get acquainted with MississippiThis great, heavy stone, intricate, architecture is astounding!It's a shame not to see this kind of quality work anymore.It's an easy walk through museum .

Southeast corner is where Obama kicked off his 2008 presidential campaign (02/10/07). It was freezing that day. And a little crowded on the lawn.

Step inside and get an idea of what it looked like to be a Representative in the late 1800s.

The Lincoln Troubadours are incredible--an absolute must-see in the summer. The whole building is completely restored as well .
