Wallach Walk (btwn E 75th & 76th St) New York , NY 10021 United States
Here time stands still. Alice finally caught up with White Rabbit and Mad Hatter is still drinking his tea . Time is frozen in bronze and they're all stuck in a loop forever
Created in 1959 by Jose de Creeft (1884-1982), this bronze sculpture features characters from the 1865 Lewis Carroll story‚ "Alice in Wonderland."
Central Park may boast nearly 30 statues , but none are as fun to climb on as Jose de Creeft 's Alice, which has been charming NYC's children and childlike adults since 1959. Read more
"Will you walk a little faster? said a whiting to a snail." Catch the delightful little fellow hanging out under the edge of Alice's mushroom . No hustle and bustle here - slow down and enjoy Tea Time.
You could bring wine and cheese for an adult tea party on one of the many benches surrounding the statue .
everyone is busy taking photos with Alice.. especially, kids.. u won't be able to take picture of Alice without kids. it's impossible!!!!!
Nice place to take a photo. During the summer the statue gets unbearably hot.
It's a statue depicting the characters in the book Alice in Wonderland. It's a little off the main paths, but well worth the walk, or take a bike there, it's beautiful. Read more
Very beautiful statue ! Seems also super fun for children , who climb it all the time ☺️
The plaque reads “In Memory of My Wife, Margarita Delacorte, Who Loved All Children .” Not only must all children love Alice but when they go to the Park they must love Mrs. Delacorte, too. Read more
I FREAKING LOVE THIS SCULPTURE! Excuse me for yelling, but I was so excited to see this one on a cold but sunny day. Snow everywhere but no other people! Amazing.
Right off the upper east side entrances, a great first stop on your park visit.
A beautiful spot seen in various films including Three Men & a Baby, Remember Me etc - climb aboard, it's a great spot for pictures
Coming here before 9am is the best. Really nice spot to sit and relax, and the statue is gorgeous.
Nice statue but look scary in certain spot, not a good place to come in the evening.
You have to be quick if you want a picture, everyone is jumping up there to take a photo.
It's a classic. If you're visiting with kids, make sure to stop for a photo.
We hoofed it up here from Rock Center only to find it closed while it was receiving its biannual cleaning .
The plaques around the statue are excerpts from the poem "The Jabberwocky" by Lewis Carroll , and one of Margarita Delacorte's favorite poems.
Everyone's busy taking pictures with Alice, so it's easy to get one with the mad hatter ;)
fun to look at, not to touch [when it's 90 degrees outside]
Neat spot. Kids like to climb this statue .
We finally paid a visit to the statue only to see it closed off for "annual preservation maintenance."
Built by a couple who looooves children . Kids feel free to climb
Remote controlled yatchs can be rented, also beer .
