The food here is spectacular. Had the chef 's tasting menu at lunch . What a treat! Service is friendly and attentive. The Foi gras was divine. Lunch crowd was missing though. A little too quiet .
Look no further for classic French dishes served in an upscale ambiance. Don't miss the signature Truffled Creamy Parmesan Grits or the Seared Diver Scallops with Foie Gras ; it's worth the splurge.
My favorite meal in NYC. The Sea Urchin Carbonara is a must try dish. The refined french technique and cuisine of the michelin star elite at a fraction the cost. NYC's most underrated by far.
Get the truffle grits appetizer and the scallops and foie gras as an entree. They are both the restaurant 's signature dishes and they are life changing. Don"t miss the chocolate souffle for dessert .
Reminiscent of Gordon Ramsay's place at The Hotel London; surprisingly chic spot just off of Union Sq, great alternative to Blue Water Grill. Mellow spot, good for conversation & sophisticated dining.

Good classic French fare that is somewhat underrated in NYC. The bar is great as well to get stuffed on the delicious gougeres while you sip.
Their fish dishes are consistently the most perfectly executed menu options, including sashimis , pastas like the signature sea urchin angel hair carbonara , and a sea trout .
The wine list is focused and outstanding for the northern hemisphere, and Roger Dagorn is always available and truly one of the best sommeliers in New York.
The main dining room is terrific for quiet parties of 6 or fewer, including a great table for a singleton. There is also a private dining room that can accommodate roughly 20.
Try and get a seat upstairs to take in the classy environment as a whole. The seasonal menu is spectacular – Cauliflower Soup , Grilled Octopus and Risotto .
Superb service, excellent food, a bit uptight ambience but their amazing cocktails will help you to relax :)
The special seasonal and holiday menus are a nice touch. Last night there was a ramp tasting menu and several lovely ramp dishes a la carte.
Is there anything better than discovering a Truffle Tasting Menu ? No. A pricey , yet entirely worth it tasting menu including house-made potato gnocchis , mushrooms & white truffle , among other treats.
The four-course menu includes a Cato Farm Bloomsday cheddar salad , truffled creamy parmesan grits and sunny side up country eggs , seared diver sea scallops and foie gras .
This place is hardly ever talked about in food world publications or blogs.Despite its solid food and polished service,it does not seem to be discussed much. It's one of the best restaurants in the NYC Read more
It’s time for more people to start buzzing about this fine dining , especially after having the Seared Diver Sea Scallops and Foie Gras , which combines the mushroom and artichoke flavors flawlessly.
Don't miss some time at the bar for a cocktail or champagne before your meal. It is small and intimate and friendly .
Lovely, warm restaurant . Great for dates and special occasions .
Bar tender will make whatever type of drink you like...I asked him to make it as spicy as he could...he succeeded and I loved it.
The French-American theme is complimented by house cocktails and funky dishes like California sea urchin and angel hair carbonara .
The frisee , shaved fennel and cheddar salad was delicious, and larger, more peasant-like and less sculptural than other apps...which is a good thing!
Lunch Prix fixe menu with wine pairing is an absolute steal
Holiday Hint: Bring the whole family to Tocqueville for Christmas dinner . The three-course menu is $95 for adults and $55 for children under 10. http://nym.ag/UIbCRS
The carrot curry soup (with coconut milk , kaffir lime , grilled eggplant puree) is amazing. I could eat a whole vat of it.
Definitely go with the 7 course chef selection. You won't regret it!
Great service, well executed food but nothing memorable. Safe lunch prix fixe option.
Duck is excellent. Fig Napoleon dessert is to die for.
Marisa, the sommelier , is amazing.
7 course tasting is the way to go. amazing food!
Their prix fixe menu is amazing!
Ambiance. Service. Food. Selection.
Had a good time but nothing spectacular especially for the price point
Get the Artic char. It was amazing.
Seared Diver Sea Scallops and Foie Gras
Check out their $24 lunch menu . Fantastic and available year round! Also, have an amazing greenmarket lunch for a bit more.
Try the fall vegetable salad , the truffled grits , the sea urchin pasta , or the scallops with foie .
Do not think -- get the sea urchin and angel hair carbonara .
Scallops and foie .
Try the Brazilian Manhattan . A great twist on a classic! Yum!
chef 's menu no longer as good. Did they change chef ?
Must have the Sea Urchin (uni) carbonara
We love the Swiss Chard Ravioli * brown butter
Try the duck !
Get the Prix Fix lunch , it's a great deal for the amount and quality of food
chefs shop at the green market , must try it
Good RW place, small but filling portions
if you're here, it's a special night
Place has an I'll wine list
The food is as described on the menu, the service is attentive, but there's nothing special about Tocqueville to justify the high prices.
Solid weekend brunch - try the huevos rancheros or kimchi fried rice. - Joshua Boggs
Lobster gnocchi and butterscotch flan were divine! Also best french fries ever! - Fiona Q
Pretty solid. Their lunch omakase is a spectacular value. Also see Sushi Azabu (still the best omakase in Manhattan, IMO) - R
Really cool vibe! Close to shops and coffeeshops! on weekends outside market place - Kujtesa M
You can get ronnybrook milk here, and great meat. Also, best place to get fresh and sweet tomatoes in NYC. Difficult to get around, but worth it. - Emma Markham
