An utterly impressive scene in the heart of London. A prime orchestra and no real bad seats make it an excellent choice for casual goers and aficionados alike.
Wonderful and absorbing experience. The theatre is very special. Most operas they put on are outstanding - once you get over listening to famous pieces in English. Very special night out. Go!
Really loved the place. From all the operas I have been to this one is quite special. I felt comfortable and cozy , voices were perfect as well as the whole feeling from the visit) definitely recommend
Great venue with affordable pricing (check time out London for offers). Ballet and opera sometimes sung in English or original language.
Saw swan lake and it was so amazing!! Never been to the ballet and this was a real great experience. Didn't think I would enjoy the ballet but this was breathtaking.
Magic venue - just beautiful . If you want ice cream at interval (& you know you do!) go all the way back out to the foyer for shorter queues.
ENO is the place to see developing British singers and to be exposed to some experimental directors. Cheaper day tickets frequently available on the TKTS booth in Leicester Square.
The spiritus classicus home of the English National Opera. Incredible architecture , home to 2016's acclaimed London revival of Sunset Boulevard.
Sometimes excellent, always worth going, cheaper and more innovative than the Royal Opera House.
I took seat on 4th floor just on the edge with restricted leg room (A6). However, there is good view and enough space for legs. Great deal for £25. :)
As a student, enter their Access All Arias scheme to buy stalls seats at 30 instead of 100+ quid. Buy programmes not at the entrance (where there will be a long queu) but at the doors to your section
The front row is where you want to be if you wish to see some of the amazing orchestras !
Superb grand auditorium , great acoustics .
Right on the top floor, off the room adjoining the balcony bar , is a 'glass' area on the roof, almost overlooking Trafalgar Square. Great atmosphere to sup pre-opera, pre-ballet, or interval drinks. Read more
Superb grand auditorium , great acoustics
The acoustics , the Orchestra , the staff
The opera can be hit and miss.. But the recent production of Porgy and Bess was excellent.
14 December: Watch The Nutcracker. The English National Ballet has been staging productions of The Nutcracker for more than 60 years, and continues to do so annually, the company's most popular show.
Amazing sceneryz watching the Nutcracker at the moment. Interval time. Theatre looks breathtaking
Went to watch Le Corsaire, it gets quite warm in Upper Circle and carry small handbags for the ladies as there is little room for big handbags .
The venue, the cast, the Orchestra and the ENO chorus I
The Coliseum opened in 1904 as a ‘people’s palace of entertainment’. During WW2 it became a canteen for air raid wardens, and Winston Churchill once addressed them from the theatre stage.
Comfortable seats , amazing scenography, very good art direction
Home of English National Opera, whose productions are sung in English. Fantastic new works as well as all the favourites!
ENO Death in Venice. Amazing lighting, choreography and sets to support great performances .
Great coffee
The most beautiful theatre in London, inside and out
Superb grand auditorium , great acoustics .
Amazing. Saw The Nutcracker. There are bad seats in the place, but we got lucky.
Superb grand auditorium , great acoustics
Classic theatre , gilded interior are worth seeing
Great performances and an amazing old venue.
Seating is extremely comfortable and allows a 5 hour sit with no discomfort. The toilet facility for men on lower floor are pretty inadequate, cramped & congested
From an architect’s POV: superb. But the opera (Lady Macbeth of …) was pretty boring.
Great music . Great adventurous productions
BEWARE! ENO needlessly contributes to food waste. Was required to dispose of closed package of crackers because they don’t allow outside food. Skip the ENO if headed home after w/ groceries in hand.
Was here for swan lake
L row stall seats are just perfect!
Much better value than the opera house ...
Totally amazing as always.
Touching. Set nice leading soprano. Madam Butterfly
Suitably lavish setting for Strictly Gershwin, great venue
Loved the butterfly here
verve cliquot champagne bar + the singing isn't bad either lol
Good shows
Try and get seats in the dress circle, numbers 28 + 29 as they are very central
The only bar I've been to in London with NO TEA . You have been warned!
Catch 'The Nutcraker' ballet . Very moving, and very traditional.
There are no bad seats in this theatre .
Most expensive bar in London.
