Circus Maximus is a historic and protected site Ripa Rome located in Italy.
Via del Circo Massimo 00153 Rome Latium Italy
The oldest and largest of Rome's ancient arenas, the Circus Maximus hosted chariot races from at least the fourth century BC. It was rebuilt by Julius Caesar to hold as many as 300,000 people.
Huge stadium and must be a wonder in its time. It's hot when visited on midday. Best visit early in the morning or late afternoon.
Not too much to see. A big plain where the chariot races used to happen. There's some remains left on one side. A good thing to see the proportions! ???? Also there's a metro and tram stop to get here.
There isn't much to see, but it's a big advantage to have seen the movie "Ben Hur". Coming from direction Colosseum, you can get some drinks at the upper end.
a perfect getaway place to walk your dog or play some outdoor games. Picnic ? I would suggest bring some wine , cheese and relax.
The wide open expanse gives some impression of what a deathly spectacle this place must once have been
This was once Rome's largest stadium (300.000 spectators) for horse and chariot races , athletic contests and wild animal fights. Great place for a picnic with family or friends on a sunny day!
An ancient Roman Stadium in which chariot racing took place. This historic landmark is now a park open to the public.
A historical place to visit, close to Coloseum.
Its a great way to escape the masses of people. Not a lot to see from a tourist point of view , but it leaves much to the imagination.
Runners beware - it is surprisingly difficult to jog around the Circo Massimo because of the gravel that covers most of the site.
Great place for venues!
If you want to see how great was the Roman Empire just visit one of its astounding ruins.
It's amazing how big it was... Maybe not a good visit if you're already tired or for people in wheel chairs
Nice green place. They are repairing main part.
Great fireworks and concert
Not much left but buildings next to it are with it and give a nice vibe. Good place for a walk
You can take the best view from the Palatino
Walking through history!
the view of the Palatino from here is majestic
Huge and impressive place
It was the largest Roman stadium
There's not much left except the depression where the circus once stood. If you're on a tight schedule, I'd skip this one.
With snow, you can ski ...
Just imagine how it was all those years ago!!
Monumentally unimpressive from a tourism point of view ...
Carichiappalla
Incredible place!
An open field
Nothing to see but a construction yard and a big field . Dissapointing!
Monumental aches

No clowns :(
Nothing worth coming
Nothing much to see but a big field .
Apenas quedan restos..
Read more
