Michelin star restaurant with great service and ambience. My favourites are the fish in broth, Peking duck , roast pork . Excellent place for bringing guests and special occasions . #ThomtoriEats
Stir-fried prawns with mala sauce was surprisingly delicious. Prawns has a crisp layer. The mala sauce was a balance of spiciness & creaminess. Would order this again
Shisen Hanten was awarded two Michelin Stars in The Michelin Guide Singapore 2016.
Wok-fried string beans added crunch to our meal. Together with plain rice (which was well-cooked), it offered respite to our mouths from the spicy dishes we had sampled????
Suitable for business lunch . Convenient lunch set, comfortable distance between tables, central location, quality food & service
The mapo tofu ($26) is a best-selling dish here, from chef Chen Kentaro's family recipe which uses doubanjiang (chilli broad bean paste ). Source: Sunday Times
Shisen Hanten is on level 35. Take lifts from the Orchard Wing (not the main lift lobby) all the way to the giddy top!
This is the popular 'dan dan' noodles (Chen's original spicy dry noodles ). Light yet savoury. A must try!
The place is beautiful and the service was great. The dim sum was good however, the fish in hot chili oil wasn’t as great as Silkroad at Amara Hotel .
Noodles and signature Mapo Tofu are fantastic. Rest of the courses more mainstream fare, not clear why the 2 stars.
On level 35 of the Orchard Wing of Mandarin Orchard hotel . Take the lifts from Mandarin Gallery
Stewed fish fillet (garoupa) in super-spicy Szechuan pepper sauce . The soup was tasty
If you prefer dining with a view of the city from 35 floors up, ask during reservation for a table by the window, if available
Mapo tofu and dan dan noodles are two classics done perfectly
Staffs were friendly . However, when I tried dinner , noodle was suddenly served in the middle of main dish. Though taste was nice, it was too soft. I'm afraid it's cooked for another table
So this is Japanese Sze Chuan? The few Chuan cuisine classics we ordered are hardly authentic . Good ambience and service though, but that's hardly enough reason to return.
Weekend brunch at $50++ is a good deal !
Dan dan noodles are heavenly. Stir fried beef are tender with nice amount of fats.
Dim sum and the roast pork are super. The Peking duck is excellent.
Business set lunch - $42/50++ per person. Min 2 pax. Food is pretty good
Just get the chef recommendations. You won't go wrong!
Chen's spicy tofu . Crab meat fried rice .
Spend at least $100 to receive complimentary parking at the hotel
Hokkaido scallops with Japanese aubergine
REALLY well executed Sichuan food , but it's it blow-my-socks-off-2-michelin-star good? No, not really.
2 Michelin stars

Stir-fry cabbage is excellent. Unique fragrance hardly found in most restaurants. 辣子鸡丁numbing but nice.dan dan noodles is rich in flavour and not too spicy. 红油抄手is smooth and nice but little meat. - Eric Neo
