A must see, part of the "Dark Rome" tour . Amazing underground burial site, you'll be amazed at the size and depth of it. Then when you realize this is one of about 69 catacombs in the area...
Most memorable place I've visited in Rome! It may seem like 30mins is short tour , but it will leave you guessing for many days after this visit. Follow your guide and don't get lost!
The tour takes 1 hr and costs 10 eur, gift shop and snack vending machines available. It shuts for 2 hrs over lunchtime so check before you arrive - lovely, different experience
These are Rome's largest catacombs. Buried in the 29km (18 miles) of tunnels were nine popes (venerated in a chapel known as il piccolo Vaticano), dozens of martyrs and thousands of Christians.
A must-see, with oodles of bones and tunnels . Closed from 12-2PM. Guided tours by language is €8. The French guide is best & most knowledgeable . Enjoy.
The catacombs of St. Callixtus are among the greatest and most important of Rome. They originated about the middle of the second century and are part of a cemeterial complex which occupies an area of.
A historical place. Be prepared for a cooler and dark ambient because you will descend several meters below. It is closed on Wednesdays and during the 12-2pm lunchbreak.
From Giovanni take a 218 bus . Pay fee for 1.50€. Entrance for English speaking tour is 8€ and you must have exact amount of money. (29/11/2012)
Unfortunately only guided tours allowed, so your dependable on starting time of your language . :-(
Very interesting and educational tour . It is well worth a see.
It's estimated that this place has existed for around 2,000 years. Considered as one of the most important Roman Catacombs, this is where you'll see deep tunnel complexes.
From Stazione Termini take Metro A (Anagnina) or bus 714 (Palazzo Sport ) to the stop at St. John Lateran Square (Piazza di S. Giovanni in Laterano), then bus 218 and stop at Fosse Ardeatine. Read more
By all means take the French guide , even if you don't speak French. He's the best!
I loved my tour . Our tour guide extended the tour to show us bones!

Bad tour . Boring crypt. Save your money!!!
