I have the Yamadaya Kotteri Ramen , and enjoy every piece and drop. It had crunchy pieces of garlic over a very tender and delicious pork on a perfect shoyu broth . Coming back soon!
One of the best bowls in the city . Kakuni Shio is amazingly rich, pork is delicious, and noodles are thin and perfectly cooked. Only thing is that the place is crowded with tourists and families.
Very good ramen , second only to Waraku. The broth is very greasy. Chashu and pork belly are amazing. Pretty good karaage too.
Proper Tokyo-type ramen - the pork broth is rich and full of bits of garlic , which made it a true joy to drink the soup . Get the thick noodles , and rejoice when you slurp it down with the fatty pork !
Very cool ramen place , with yummy food and friendly service . They have Vegan ramen option that is quite tasty.
Cozy Japanese ramen house. Get a bunch of appetizers and a little of everything along with your big bowl of ramen (extra noodle portion). Get adventurous with the spice bombs if you dare.
They have gluten free and vegan ramen options !
Black sesame ramen and karage are tasty. Ice cream mochi is very gooey and tasty.
They give you a ginormous amount of meat, the broth is super rich. A bit heavy but always delicious! The karaage is ????
Karage and the spicy tonkotsu ramen were both very good. Large portions . Broth and noodles definitely not going to beat the best in the city but good overall.
This place used to be my favorite ramen in San Francisco, but after being open for nearly a year I feel the quality has suffered. I look forward to my next meal here being as good as back then.
Even the mild spicy here is spicy ! Other than that good option when you want Ramen in Japantown
Had the Yamadaya ramen w/tonkotsu shoyu . Yumi had vegan ramen . Both were pretty amazing. Also devoured Kara age. Super friendly staff . Highly recommend.
Pretty goid ramen place :) tonkotsu ramen was good~ (their noodles r thinner than other ramen place ) kakuni (pork belly-ramen topping) get it! yumyum~
Ramen is fantastic. You can't go wrong with what you choose. It gets busy though, but the place is big so line moves fast.
Ask for garlic on the side so you can add fresh pressed garlic over your ramen ! Side dishes unnecessary for ordering if you're not too hungry.
They have many choices of combo, e.g. Ramen with Gyoza and Rice , Ramen with Karaage and Rice . Big stomach-friendly! ???? ???? ????
Probably my 3rd favorite Ramen spot in SF. Friends and I enjoyed the Ramen and the curry rice dish
Ramen Yamadaya is a great quick place for some hearty ramen . I recommend getting Gyoza and salad to make a full meal.
The Kakuni Kotteri is tasty – the pork belly in particular is buttery smooth – but the broth is also incredibly rich
I liked Ramen , broth is great, pork is awesome, but noodles seem to be a cheaper ones.
dankest spicy tonkotsu i've slurped in the west. they're all about their thin noodles but if i went back i'd upgrade to the thickies
Delicious ramen with pork that melts in your mouth. The red bean fish shaped desserts are also a favorite
Had Yamadaya Shio . Enjoyed it very much
Solid ramen spot in Japan town . Wait for lunch was pretty long though.
Might be my favorite ramen in the city so far - taking over from Tanpopo. Shoyu was nice and creamy.
Grab a big ol' slab of extra pork belly to snack on or throw into your ramen . Totally worth it.
Ramen tonkatsu spicy is the perfect spicy umani combination. Get extra thick noodles and fresh garlic
Yamayada ramen with the spicy broth ! Chicken karaage was bomb too!
Spicy ramen is pretty good, even level 1 has a good kick. The fatty broth is super rich in flavor too!
Spicy miso ramen w pork belly is solid.
Amazing food, I really loved this place <3
Great ramen , pork buns and giozas!
Try the Takoyaki if you're hanging out at the Cherry Blossom Festival
See the layer of pork fat floating on top? That's the 20 hours Tonkotsu power! ????????
I love that the seating area feels like you're in a Japanese house. The ramen here is pretty standard, nothing remarkable.
The Japanese consulate general recommended this place to me as the best ramen in San Francisco.
Ordered the Yamadaya ramen and ginger pork rice bowl . Ramen was good to go! The pork rice bowl , not so much.
Tonkotsu ramen , chicken karaage , and takoyaki
They have a vegan ramen option ????
Big portions . Line seemed long, waited about 30 minutes. Heard a server tell another server always say the wait is 15-20 minutes no matter how long or short the line , so beware about that!
Best ramen in the city if you get the thick noodles ! ????
Ask for the thick noodles (extra 50 cents) and the fresh garlic (free!)
The chicken tonkatsu was excellent. Very crispy , while still moist.
Side salad is straight cabbage but the dressing is delicious. You'll probably want to ask for extra.
Great ramen ; not too salty
The vegan ramen was surprisingly good. On the other hand, the service is not great. They are constantly rushing you to order and pay because there is a wait to get in.
Try to get there before the dinner rush begins. You can easily end up with a 30 mins or more wait.
Love that you can ask for thick noodles (for an additional $0.50).
The Tonkotsu Shoyu has such a rich and flavourful broth!
The tonkotsu ramen is fantastic, but try the geso karaage (fried squid legs) too! - Ni Mu
The most amazing vegetarian broth and most delicious ramen I've had hands down! - Sharon Pithawalla
Great to pick up lunch-choose from delish bento boxes, sushi, musubi or seaweed salad. Fresh and healthy! - S C
Love this place! Nearly everything is $1.50. Large store and it has lots of cute stuff. - Ada Chiu
Japanese crepe has green tea ice cream, red beans, and macha sauce. Delicious! Make sure you add ice cream to any crepe you get. You need to balance out the dry crispy crepe with something creamy - Kelly ????
