With its grassy banks, weeping willows, and rushing waterfall, the Pool is one of the most idyllic spots in the Park. Central Park's designers, Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, constructed the Pool by damming up a natural stream that was known as Montayne's Rivulet.

Great spot in Central Park to relax, have a picnic or even get some work done, since it's not too crowded and not too many people know about it. Cute ducks all throughout the pond !
The view . In Oct/Nov. Epitome of autumn in NY.
I saw no ducks, but very quiet and perfect place to collect oneself
Very scenic during the Fall. Large open spaces covered with fallen leaves and surrounded by so many trees .
I love going to Central Park with the kids it's a relaxing place
A beautiful corner of the park with a pond full of ducks, turtles , weeping willows, and fountains
Watch for interesting birds who come and go at certain times of the year. My favorite: black eyed night heron.
The audio guide says New York drinking water flows into the lake .
Great place in the park for picnics !
There's an unusual tree at the west side of the pool - a Golden Larch.
Perfect picnic spot
Didn't see ducks but a lot of turtles !
So peaceful here!
Great place for off leash walks and training !
Good for kids at 9-12
Hidden peaceful spot
Enough people to people watch , but not so many you want to cut someone.
If you go to the pool beware too many disgusting people who act like they have no home training .
