Stock up on fresh ramen noodles from sun noodles (David Chang's fav producer). Get a few of their soup packets (shoyu , miso , or tonkotsu ), too and you can make exceptional homemade ramen in 5 mins.
The largest Japanese market in the region. This place has it all. Food court , produce, dry goods, & a mall next door with Japanese books & household goods. There's a free bus from the Port Authority.
The Spicy Miso Ramen from Santoka is the best! Place your order as soon as you get there (and do your shopping) if you come on a crowded day - the wait at Santoka is sometimes 30+ minutes.
Spicy ramen in the food court is amazing here. The food court is legit. I personally can't come to mitsuwa without having ramen , but the spicy fried gyoza is awesome and so is the onigiri .
The food court is awesome. Try them all. The market itself is a nice place tonroam around. The view outside is also another plus. Just don't go there in the weekwnd. Super crowded
Go for your hard to find Japanese ingredients. They have awesome hamachi on sale if you keep a lookout. Omusubi riceballs is now all year round here too!
Foodcourt heaven!! Make sure you have cash though because they do not accept cards ! Walk around first and check out the options. So good!!
Great Japanese market with grocery , food court , and events throughout the year. Delicious ramen and yummy Taiyaki. Check out the Mochi pounding festival in January and the Summer festival in August.
it's a quick ferry ride and a nice bike ride to work up your appetite for a hearty nabeyaki craving and a fantastic view of the city skyline across the water!
Oh, and you cannot leave without trying their green tea soft ice cream from Tea 's Tea stand. It is simply amazing. The black sesame soft ice cream is also very good. Must have!!
An almost always busy marketplace with a variety of food vendors (sushi , udon , matcha , crepes ). You'll most likely have to stand in line for a bit, but it's worth the wait!
From the tea shop , get the Hoji green tea & sesame soft serve ice cream mixed together in a cup. You will not regret this. The eel onigiri in ghe supermarket is good too!
Japanese supermarket in North Jersey that's just like shopping in Tokyo. There's also a food court specializing in Japanese food .
Seriously amazing. The ramen is great along with many of the other dishes in the cafeteria . The grocery portion has boatloads of tasty Japanese candy , too.
This is first and foremost a supermarket with an amazing food court to boot. Highly recommend
A little on the expensive side but at least you can get things made exclusively in Japan.
My favorite grocery store . Sashimi to go is so fresh. Surrounded by delicious food court (chirashi bowl and ramen )
Cash only food court but there is a chase atm inside. The free water tastes funny. Soft serve ice cream is delicious! My usuals are soba , ramen , or chirashi !
Make sure you don't wait until the last minute to buy your meal/ice cream/cake! The restaurants and other stores in Mitsuwa close earlier.
Black sesame soft serve is divine and ramen here is delicious! Great supermarket as well with wide selection on Asian snacks and groceries .
Have a delicious meal in the food court then go bat shit crazy in the snack isle attempting to understand what the googly eyed character is saying on that bag of "chips ." Katsuhana & Kayaba are great!
Stock up on your favorite japanese drugstore cosmetics and some japanese hair dye here. The food is also very fresh. They even have shishito pepper .
This market is huge! They've got a prepared food section as well as a food court . I love coming here for their packages mochi .
Amazing market . Everything is fresh and of high quality. Highly recommend the trip out to this market .
The strawberry shortcake at Italian Tomato will put a smile on anyone's face. My family and I celebrated the new year with this one right here <3
If you are visiting on weekends, grab a seat/table before you go off for food and be prepare for 20-40 minutes wait for your food at busiest times. Get snacks 4 the wait
Mitsuwa is the most fascinating market place I know. Almost everything is imported and delicious. Its like being wrapped into Japanese culture.
Ikura , uni, and kani bowl from the supermarket with a medium spicy miso ramen from the food court . Nothing better on a chilly day
Here you can find all Japanese candies and potato chips that you don't normally find around local stores. Especially the Green Tea Kitkats.
I come for the ramen and Tempura ! But today I also ran into one of Beyonce 's background dancers!!!!
Ramen , undon, soda , and a market place to shop what more can you ask for???
food court with authentic Japanese foods (ramen , donburi etc) and the market has a great collection of Japanese/Asian groceries .
The food court isn't as fresh as it used to be ten years ago but still a good place for Japanese groceries in northern NJ.
You won't find black sesame soft serve like it anywhere else. The vanilla is good too!
. Yokohama St. Home: The Strawberry shortcake is melt in your mouth delicious. Also a big fan of their bread but it sells quick so make sure you grab it fast!
Fresh sashimi from the groceries section ready to eat! Great green tea and black sesame soft serve at matcha love.
Come here for Santoka ramen ! And all the other delicious options in the food court & then go grocery shopping. I'm in heaven!
Picked up some shiro miso , ginger , and dandelion greens. This place makes me happy. Worth the trip to NJ
The roasted green tea soft serve is to die for. Delicious and not overpowering!
I wish I could live here. Fantastic dailies for the pantry and no visit us complete without kitchoan and hamadaya. But slim pickings for vegetarian dinners .
So much to do in this market ! A real taste of japan can be had in the food court , or bring some cool japanese food & drinks for home from the market side. Immaculately clean . sometimes need translatio
There needs to be japanese market like this in every city . Get some high quality ramen then go grocery shopping.
Had Santoka 's melty pork in soy sauce broth ramen - came with a bowl of rice and more melty pork and a halved soy sauce egg . Very savory. Note that prices in the food court went up as of 4/16/11.
Good selection of Japanese toys next door. Kamen rider figures and belts, gunpla, and super Sentai.
Great place for asian groceries and lunch/dinner at the food court . But avoid weekends if you don't like crowds and long waits for ramen .
The Strawberry shortcake is melt in your mouth delicious. Also a big fan of their bread but it sells quick so make sure you grab it fast!
This place has amazing ramen if you go here you need to get the ramen also great Japanese snacks
Excellent, comprehensive Japanese market with plenty of food to eat on-site.
The chirashi bowl station in the food court is not to be missed
Great for hard to find Japanese imports. Their ramen and curry selections alone are great.
My favorite flavor was hoji-cha (roasted green tea). It's like a milder, toastier matcha. Still, I'd recommend getting a waffle bowl so you can try other flavors, too. - Emily Wilson
Excellent tempura place for a food court. They fry in sesame oil. I love the tempura egg w/ runny yolk - add a silky element that contrasts well with the crunch of tempura. - DivineJudge1
Beautifully displayed foods will make you want to buy! Some hard to find items available. Competitive prices, but somethings can be a bit higher so know your stuff. Yes, it's cold & open 24 hours. - Marlo G
Gluten free choco chip cookies! Goodness! Crisp and buttery goodness! - Ms. Dee Bell
We love this place! The food is the freshest around. Lots of parking, and great views by the water. - NY Waterway
The store in NYC is larger, has more selection and variety, and is cheaper. This store disappoints. - PSU-Lion Di
They seem to always be running out of food. I wanted to get the karage but they ran out! I ended up getting the cutlet and it was really good! - ????T
