Wow the omelette must be the tastiest, best textured omelette I've ever had. Japanese attention to detail is fantastic
If you're tired of the dull cold brew swill they serve at every other coffee shop , try the iced pour over or iced siphon coffee for a refreshing, delicious change.
I've been here 4-5 times during the day and at night. During the day it is a coffeeshop and at night it is a sake bar . Excellent everytime. 10/10.
Most stylish Manhatan's coffee place with best brewed siphon style coffee . Go for Africa. A must visit place in NYC, because style and profesionalism equals Japan. And no espresso machine. Realy Hi.
What a special place. Unlike any of the army of MacBook coffee shops in the City . Coffee is high-grade and artfully brewed. Definitely get a siphon coffee and spend the next 20 mins escaping.
An elegant bar for adults. A quiet place for a contemplative drink, inspired by kissaten (old school Japanese coffee shops ). Totally tucked away in the East Village , it makes for a great escape.
Gem of a coffee shop that really knows their stuff - pick from French Press , AeroPress or Siphon , and enjoy the show; grab a quick bite at Curry-Ya next door then end with coffee and dessert here!
I had the royal milk tea and it was incredible. My sister was obsessed with the sugar crystals. The music is so chill , so relaxing. I could have stayed for hours.
Coffee bar in the day, sake bar at night. Tiny spot with great food throughout. Follow their call on your sake bottle and pick your preferred glassware then have a great night of conversation.
Really cool coffee bar with an authentic Japanese flair! Amazing hotcakes - ask for them to put banana inside! ???? really good matcha as well !
Super friendly barkeeps that will eagerly help guide you through their encyclopedic menu of sake by the glass. They also have a Japanese HEATED TOILET SEAT. Wheeee!
The hot cakes and siphon coffee are perfection
Tried the Omurice with Cream Sauce . Fluffy, perfectly seasoned egg , rice with just enough sauce to flavor without overpowering, and a delicate, yet rich cream sauce to finish. In a word, perfect.
Go on weekdays to avoid the que. Order fluffy omelette and hot cakes . Yum! The katzu sandwich was dry. Nice service and delicious coffee .
Athough the Porto Rico coffee is authentically brutal, this Japanese-style East Village cafe provides a charming, slow-paced, lunch experience - everything is prepared with care. At night a sake bar .
Peculiarly good vibes here. Feels like you're part of an alternate universe Old Western themed anime . Have some coffee in the morning or some sake at night
They serve a delicious katsu sandwich and excellent coffee at this slick Japanese cafe . It turns into a sake bar at night. Take a few minutes to enjoy the bathroom in the back.
Cafe by day and sake bar by night. In the afternoons they serve lunch , including an impressive pork katsu and seasonally appropriate Japanese vegetables .
This Japanese coffee shop -or should I say bar - is something else. Slow coffee is what they do and the syphon and hario where outstanding!

Hi-Collar in New York City is a daytime omurice , katsu sandwich coffee shop , and nighttime lively sake bar , inspired by the Japanese Jazz Age.

Got to try the siphon coffee ! I am not a big coffee drinker but this place had a great coffee . One of best in the town .
Great coffee in the day time and even better sake at night . Very hip decor - feels like a little shop in Tokyo.
Carefully curated sake selection , interesting food, and super attentive and amazing staff
New location — not as fancy , but more room and the food is just as good as it used to be.
The only place in Manhattan that I've found serves omurice !! So fluffy and cute !
Really amazing everything! Note to other customers though: there are only 13 seats and this not a place for groups. Don't be rude and save a spot for a group in line ; this isn't the right setting.
Dominique Ansel, chef/owner of Dominique Ansel Bakery , recommends the Berkshire Pork Katsu Sando .
