The sight of Philadelphia’s ‘The Thinker ’ at the front of The Rodin Museum’s columned entryway is a replica of Rodin’s burial site in Meudon, France. Compare the two sites to see the resemblance.
Not a huge museum , although the largest collection of Rodin 's sculptures outside of Paris. Make sure you wander around outside as week as inside.
Amazing pay as you wish. Beautiful gardens that they play music and have beer and wine for purchase in the summer
Be sure to stop and rest at the front garden’s reflecting pool and the tapestry of Japanese Ilex, shrubs and colorful flowers , some dating back to the 1920s.
Inspiring artist well worth checking out if you haven't visited this museum . I would stop by every day and study the sculptures outside on my way to school. Rodin is an amazing artist :)
Beautiful sculpture . Museum is on the smaller side but it was perfect size for my husband and me. Leaves enough time for other adventures!!
Pay what you wish. Small museum . Take your time walking around.
A total sleeper hit in the shadows of the PMA and Barnes. If you're looking for something different to check out, visit Rodin
Not as big as I thought it would be. But brilliant nonetheless. Big fan of Rodin now. (Use part of your 2 day ticket to the Phila Museum of Art .)
A cool place to sketch sculptures and hang out. Well designed and executed space.
I almost cried when I stepped inside. A beautiful collection of Rodin 's art , and a nice escape from the city .
Gates of Hell , Burgers of Calais, The Kiss, The Thinker , Woman and Child in Grotto, everything!
The outside sculptures are stunning replicas, especially the pieces from his gates of hell .
Check out this historic site before it closes for renovations in September 2011. The museum , a gift to the city from Jules Mastbaum, is the largest collection of Auguste Rodin’s work outside Paris. Read more
