A proper English Pub with friendly staff , fabulous beer and authentic British charm. Highly recommend this lovely gem when in London. Close to St. Paul 's Cathedral and Blackfriar Tube station .

Pubs were here since the 1500s, this one may date to the 18th. Once major cock fighting venue before its ban in England and Wales in 1849; still has architectural remnants despite 1860s remodel.

Used to be a Cock Fighting Arena, the round carpeted floor where people sit and drink is the actual arena. Still has the standing gallery which is barely used now. Cosy place !

Chanced upon this pub on a Tuesday night and they were hosting a choir so we got some free entertainment into the bargain. Has TT Landlord on tap and it's a cosy pub .

Extremely friendly management . Even if tourist , they made me feel like a Londoner. Lovely.
