What frescoes are to Italy, tiles, or azulejos, are to Portugal . East of Praça do Comercio, this museum is housed in a convent dating back to 1509. Don’t miss the tile panel of the city made in 1738.
A 16th century convent and one of the most beautiful, converted to serve as a museum of ceramic tiles: a distinctive part of Portuguese culture, inherited from the Moors.
Amazing museum in Lisbon, very beautiful catalog of Azulejos and a magnificent 18th century chapel in amazing state . This museum , as many in portugal is free of charge in the 1st Sunday of every month
Although far from downtown and a little bit worn out, the museum is very distinctive for the Portugal culture. It boasts many azulejo treasures.Don’t miss the Lisboa panorama before the earthquake !
Beautiful museum and a perfect place to learn about the different types of azulejos that you see everywhere in Portugal . Not super central but OK connections by bus .
The museum has their own free app as audio guide, wifi is available in the entrance. Bring your earphones and enjoy the exhibition !
Very beautiful exposition . Azulejo is something typically Portuguese, so it's a must visit. The ticket for adults is 5€
Absolutely fascinating. Portuguese Art of Azulejo tiles making. Centuries of creating beautiful pieces. The exhibition is not huge maybe but def worth a visit - unique objects & beautiful building
A museum dedicated to Portugal 's native tile. Don't miss the upstairs gallery that has a panoramic mural tile of Lisbon from before the earthquake .
Nice museum about the Portoguese tiles situated in an old monestery and with a very charming garden
All types of azulejo exhibited chronologically ; you can take part in a workshop and paint your own tile.
Definitely worth a visit. Wide selection of tiles of different eras and styles, and the building itself is amazing.
Small museum with many different styles of tiles, worth the visit. Drink a bica in the courtyard .
Good timing and rhythm in the route. Make sure you visit the panoramic view of Lisbon, you'll learn a lot without feeling tired
It sounds stupid and boring but this place is huge and filled with many interesting things
Don't forget to see the panoramic tiles of historic Lisbon. The museum has a nice bar in the ground floor.
Kind of a pain to get to, but worth it! If you go on Sunday before 2pm, entry's free
It for sure needs more funds from the city . What a waste of potential, beautiful interiors of old church . Worth visiting! Take uber to get there.
If you love the azulejos you see all over Lisbon, this is the place to visit. Great interior!
It's just lovely to see. And cafeteria is very nice to stay for a while when it's warm and sunny.
Excellent courtyard terrace . Very relax place to drink something.. Besides the tiles..
If you're not particularly interested in tiles, it is worth a visit anyway since it is located in an old monastery !
Very beautiful art works done for centuries . Exquisite site worth visiting.
Nice museum with interesting tiles and great frames. (Apple pie made without love - cake base with simple and tasteless stewed apples . Not worth to try)
beautiful collection of azulejos, beautiful museum !
Can't believe how many tiles there are in this museum . Well worth a visit.
It is a must to visit if you are in Lisbon

Great little museum with some wonderful tiles from throughout Portuguese history. Only disappointing tiles are the boring cheap ones in the toilets .. You'd think they might know of some better tiles!
Do not miss the cafeteria ! Best apple pies in a 2 km radius.
Great Lunch there today! Read more
Fantastic museum .
Adorei o museu , a história , a cultura...
