Gonzalez-Alvarez St. Augustine's Oldest House

The González-Alvarez House is the oldest surviving Spanish Colonial dwelling in Florida. The site has been occupied since the 1600s and the present house dates to the early 1700s.

I walked down the street and touched the outside walls of the foundation. You can tell that it's an old house, it was built between 1803 and 1817. St. Augustine was founded in 1565!

Be careful, they close capriciously, ignoring their posted hours. Call ahead to make sure the're taking visitors.
