New Museum

Always a good time!

If there's a line for tickets, buy online and skip to the front to go straight in. The exhibits are always super modern. The top floor has a nice view of the financial district skyline.

Be prepared to wait in line after line for each exhibit in this beautiful and modern gallery . Check out the view from the rooftop . Free admission every Thursday from 7-9pm.

The building is as cool as the art it houses, and as the neighborhood it calls home. A great space to get away from the racket of the Lower East Side for an hour or so. The Sky Deck is a must-see.

This museum is solid fun. Always work from the top down. Many of you if a certain age will miss the gritty Bowery but enjoy that at a museum is here and not William Sonoma.

Observation deck and overall building design make it a notable point of interest in the neighbourhood. Nature of exhibits greatly varies, some are very « out there ».

Dedicated to contemporary art and innovative media, this museum features a constantly changing array of exhibits so you will always find something new. Enjoy the gorgeous views from the roof.

No permanent collection but that means everything is subject to rotation. A little more daring than other contemporary institutions. A scenic rooftop to boot.

This contemporary art museum on Bowery is hard to miss with its stunning architecture and a rotation of diverse exhibitions . The artistic community of NoLIta radiates from here.

One of my favorite buildings in New York. Make sure to check out the view from the terrace and the bookstore . P.S. I miss the "HELL YES!" sign...

Great spot for a casual business meeting. Sit at the cafe on the ground floor and look at some weird art while you close your latest M&A deal.

If you don't like contemporary art or "don't get it" there is still an awesome book selection in the first floor for you to learn so when you do come in, you can appreciate everything a little better.

Beautiful art pieces that make you contemplate and think about history in an alternative way. Will come again!

There was a line when I went on Thursday for the pay as you wish, but it moved very quickly. The pixel forest is beautiful !

Founded in 1977. New art , new ideas...amazing. Parties here are a must. Great place to see live music as well .

The Sky Room on the top floor boasts some of the best views in the city . After you get your art fix, pop upstairs and see #nyc in all its glory.

Great architecture . Worth the visit, especially when there's live avantgarde jazz music going on, and you're digging into the bookstore or having your coffee at the same time.

Thursday nights are pay what you want, so basically you can get in for a couple of bucks OR if you have no shame, FREE!! You can see everything here in less than an hour. Don't do the full admission .

The shiny, silver architectural addition to the Bowery is dedicated to showcasing contemporary art & acts as an incubator for adventurous ideas birthed by domestic and international emerging artists .

Check out Ann Hirsh's iPad app, Twelve. Her art , (like Playground ) takes a richly nuanced digital native view of what most of us would immediately label pedophilloic predation. But she won't let you.

it's hard to find complex art , sometimes weird, beautiful and meaningful architecture and thoughtful interior design in one just space!

Always a visit in the afternoon. Not too overwhelmingly big and rich but always cool exhibitions

Visit the sky room and stop to enjoy the gorgeous view of most of the city .

A short walk down the Bowery, this aluminum landmark functions as a stack of mismatched galleries and acts as a local beacon for avant-garde lovers and the culturally curious alike.

This contemporary art museum is itself a work of art , as its stacked, seven-story building is considered an architectural contribution to the city ’s landscape.

Student discount makes it worth here. However definitely come here on Thursdays when you pay what you want. Suggested is 2$

It makes you wonder what deal with the devil the artists made to get displayed here. Exhibit rooms are huge. Made me want to sleep here.

The Shaft Space was created from leftover space between the third and fourth floors, after the architects realized they could carve out more gallery space by moving building ducts. Read more

This is a place of extremes. The Sky Room rocks, but the galleries feel like high-end interrogation cells. The art can be really good or bad. The vibe, serene or scene-y. All depends on the show.

This is my favorite art museum in NYC--they always show really extraordinary and eclectic modern works.

Pay as you wish on Thursday nights 7-9 pm. Rooftop is only open on the weekends.

Try to go when the museum will be less crowded . There's an intimacy to the work when the room is silent.

You must take the elevator up to the top then walk down the stairs to visit each floor.

Start at the top and work down. Interesting exhibits and space.

on the north side, in between the 4th and 5th floors (?), a secret staircase with two notches: one: a window that sometimes shows projections on the building opposite; the other: secret rendevous spot

I like modern Art but seriously!? Not kidding when I say my favourite part were the toilets

If you’re not a MoMA person, maybe the highly produced presentation of modern art at the New Museum will strike your fancy .

Go during the free Thursday hours, take the elevator to the top, take the stairs down. Small but thoughtful and interesting exhibits .

Keep an eye on their events and performances . They host some incredible moments with great artists .
