Opened 1972. One of the earliest sushi bars in Los Angeles. The first, Kawafuku, opened in Little Tokyo in 1966 and is long gone.
Food comes out quick. The chirashi bowl has lots of fresh sashimi and palette cleanser options. Friendly staff , too.
More foreigners comes here, and they changed the rule to allow people order dinner set at the sushi bar . Hey, Teriyaki chicken & California roll are definitely not sushi DUDE!!
Oomasa sushi always tastes so fresh! We’ve never had a bad or even so-so meal here. Hast to be my favorite sushi bar .
Not your regular sushi place...this is hands down THE bomb! Get yourself a plate of 10-piece nigiri and sushi , and you'll know what I'm talking about.
Old school perfection! This is not the spot if you're looking for an extensive saki menu or a lot of fancy rolls.
Mackerel raw: amazing. Tuna raw: so fresh and red. TempurA hit the spot. Great Japanese
Overall a decent Japanese joint with me than just sushi on offer. The udon is decent. Vegetarian options include veggie tempura and some noodle dishes .
The beef noodles are soooo good. And the spicy tuna sushi is really fresh and delicious.

Decent lunch place. The Oyako Don was a little disappointing though, it tasted so plain before I added more soy sauce to it. The tempura was alright, not as good as what I had before.
The salmon ochazuke is delicious! Definitely comfort food .
Toro is soft and melty, mackrel is sweet and fishy. Great place for sushi . Ample bar space but tables usually have a short wait .
Nice Japanese restaurant . Worth for the money.
Park in the parking garage on Central (near the corner of 1st) for validated parking . It's $6 to enter the garage , but you get your money back with validation.
