Search among the breakwater rocks for turtles if they are not on the beach . They do have their own parking spots reserved for them... ;)
The Hawaiian green turtles usually return to the ocean from basking by dark. Good time to see them is dusk. This is one of three known places these turtles bask (Australia & Galapagos are others).
So beautiful and quaint. Saw so many surfers far into the ocean. I didn't have a chance to go late in the afternoon to see the turtles sleeping but I did get to see them swimming near the rocks!
Beautiful view ! Stop and walk the beach as the turtles almost blend in with the rocks! We went at sunset and only 1 was still sunning. According to the volunteer as many as 30 come here regularly.
Soft sand and a great chance to see some turtles . Great to see how actively they protect the animals from tourists . Also some decent surf farther out.
Olivia -Dawn, a 40-yr old turtle was here when I came, but even without that, the beach is great: at least 100 ft wide with fine sand
Visit the beach late afternoon or early evening to see the turtles on the beach .
On the far north part there are volunteers that can tell you about the turtles . Brutus was out today! One of the fisherman said that if you throw see weed at them in the water, they'll come closer
Neighbors weary of all traffic, and the city might stop the parking on side of road , Complainers don't want tourist books .& maps listings of site.. No official cross walk, Be Careful on road !
We went fairly early in the morning and quickly lost count of how many turtles there were-definitely more than 3-4 times the # of people. Bring polarized glasses/lens filter to reduce the water glare.
Great beach for sea turtle watching, not so much for swimming . My picture doesn’t do the scene justice.
If you manage to score a parking spot , chances are you'll be greeted by magnificent creatures.
I watched 3 dozen people chase one poor sea turtle in and out of the ocean. Meantime I took a pic of this cute bird.
Plenty of turtles , most swimming while we were there
According to on-site conservists: Turtles feed off algae in morning and sun themselves to rest in early afternoon at higher tide. Check around 1pm for best sightings.
go at dawn/dusk to see turtles ....harder to see if you don't go at this time (i.e. we saw one bobbing in and out of the area but in water, not out of water)
Interesting to see turtles up close but only for a few minutes as part of a North Shore tour . Lots of traffic, parking is a pain, and then you see huge turtles laying on the sand not doing very much.
Parking across the street can get crowded . Volunteers usually present to keep the turtles protected. When they come ashore, don't stand in their way..they are tired and need to rest!
Plenty of shady spots to sit in while enjoying the turtles in the foreground and the surfers in the distance.
30 or so turtles come up to this shore. And they're HUMUNGO. So amazing to see.
Tons of tourists and on the busy highway but so worth the quick stop. We saw at least ten turtles in the 20 minutes we were there!!
Turtles . Park on the other side of the road and walk a bit.
Best place to see turtles in the summer
Got to see Mana eating in her swimming hole. And got to learn a bit about the turtles from Don. Thanks!
Hard to find parking , but as a common tourist stop, it doesn't disappoint for the view , surf and turtle watching. But... DONT TOUCH THE TURTLES!
Always has turtle !!
Wonderful spot to watch the turtles .
Grab some shaved ice from Matsumoto Shaved Ice and watch the sunset here!
Be carefully where you park . We got an $85 ticket and we were sitting in the car!!!
This place is magical :) Love the big turtles .
Come at sunset do this pose! Para para paradise.
The sea turtles here are amazing. Don't try to touch/feed them- they need to stay wild! :)
Police are looking to give tickets so make sure you have parked legally
U can see more turtles on the beach in the evening.
We saw Brutus, Olivia, Kuhina and Woolly Bully ... A fortuitous day for turtle sightings today
Always stay at least six feet away by Federal Law.
Saw Hiwahiwa today. She is a lazy lady enjoying her sun bathing .
This is not Turtle Beach ! This is Laniakea...yes there are turtles . But it is NOT Turtle Beach .
Sooo many turtles ! Great place to go snorkeling !
Get ready to sit in traffic. Nice beach , but really busy.
Great "secret" place to see the honu up close and personal!
Traffic is a pain but the beach is nice. We didn't see any turtles but maybe we were just unlucky!
I got to see two turtles here, but they just sat there on the beach . They might as well been turtle statues
Super sad we came at 3:30-4:00pm and we didn't see any turtles :(

Watching turtles in their natural habitat. Don't get close, though!
LUV THIS BEACH !!
Traffic is often slow because people are crossing the road to/from parking .
Don't bother the turtles ! Stay behind the red rope!
Good tide pools to the left, good snorkeling and diving in the cove. Great place for a beginner scuba diver to practice--wide and sandy bottom to play over. Fun for night dives with a full moon! - AlohaKarina ????????????
