So worth it. Really pretty easy. Very crowded but round trip was still only just over an hour and that included time to take a lot of pictures. Go early in the morning if you can.
It is our first hike in Oahu and oh boy it was beautiful! Downtown and lighthouse looks just AMAZING. Relatively easy to climb to the top, very recommend!
Best to do at sunrise or sunset (last hike is at 4:30). Weather is cooler and crowds are less. Spectacular and relatively simple hike . Although be warned a lot of steps!
From Waikiki Beach , Duke Kahanamoku statue , you can be in the crater, at the entrance, in about 60mins. Important: Don't forget to register online ! Then another 40mins to the summit.
My husband and I LOVED this hike . It's pretty short 1.5 miles round trip but we are avid hikers. The view from the summit was awesome! We got great photos and an experience of a life time!
beautiful view of the crater, waikiki, koko head, and the ocean.
Bring water , sunscreen , cap or just anything that will protect you from the sun. The hike isn't too difficult plus the view at the top is just breathtaking :)
Amazing views from the summit. If you're tired by the time you come out of the tunnel take the non-steep steps as a short cut.
Either come 15 minutes before the park opens or wait until after 7:15 am to avoid the tour buses . Great morning hike !
Absolutely worth doing if you're in Honolulu. It's not a difficult hike and the views are incredible.
About a 60 minute trek to the top of this old volcano with the most amazing views of Waikiki . It's pretty easy - my 20 month old walked it all by himseld Read more
The hike isn't that difficult. Did it in 20 minutes. Stairs are narrow, walkway is decent. Lots of wind on top that'll cool you down. Great view . Don't believe the negative tips.
Worth the climb. Huge panoramic view of Oahu's leeward side.
Great Panoramic view . Great defined trail and steps to hike .
Easy hike rewarded by panoramic views of Waikiki , but the sun can be hot. Pace yourself and bring water .
Nice view , easy hike (if you hike ), and worth dealing with the crowds to see it once.
Great view at the top but long walk up in the heat.
Ignore the guy who said "do not do this." It's really not that difficult! Water, pace yourself, wear good tennis shoes & sunscreen , go earlier in the day, etc. BEAUTIFUL view , very much worth it.
The view is the best payoff after a long climb. If you go early, you might not hit many crowds.
Easy/moderate hike , great views at the summit. Lookout gets crowded , get here early to beat the sun and the crowd
Nice trail , nice view at the top. But the map is very misleading on the trail distances.
This is the Disneyland of hikes . It's pretty easy, but the view will make it worth being in line for over an hour.
Great views , use the restroom before you head up. Shave ice from truck more like a snow cone , but a good reward if you've gone midday. Agua and a hat are musts.
Not a difficult hike , but get there as soon as they open to beat the heat. Well worth it, beautiful view .
It takes approximately 45 min to get on the top of the diamond !! Bring bottle of water ????
This would be an awesome place to watch the sunset , but park closes at 6pm; also might be difficult to hike back down in the dark
Make sure to bring your camera and some water. Hold onto your hat when you reach the top - lotta victims up there
5 dollars for parking or 1 dollar for walk ins (pedestrians). Go on a weekday. Weekends is packed with tourists .
If you're really fit, run it! :)
Not a bad hike at all. Walk in $1 (cash only ) and in 20 minutes you've got a great view . Park closes at 6pm so get in by 5!
Easy hike ... just some stairs, but can easily be done.
New alternate route is easier than going straight up the 2nd set of stairs- nicer view along the way :)
Bring gatorade and water you will need it once you get to the top...but worth it for the view :)
Amazing pay off... View !
Hike isn't that intense but the view is spectacular.
Short 7/10ths of a mile to the summit, takes about 50 minutes roundtrip to hike , great views .
Bring water and wear sturdy shoes . View is amazing!
Bring water and do not wear sandals. Can buy water at start of trail . View at top is beautiful
Worth the hike to summit can see 3 other islands on a clear day!
I had higher expectations, but it's still beatiful
Carry water and pace yourself! Wear sunscreen & a hat. This is a tough hike if you're not that fit!
It looks scary but it is not difficult at all. Be prepared and bring plenty of water. The view is awesome up there!
Seems like taking a selfie with you and honolulu is required before you are allowed to leave here
Go early! This place was packed and overflowing by the time we can down.
Amazing views in every direction await.
Beautiful !! Totally worth it rain or shine
You don't need a flashlight, but I'm glad we had good shoes , a floppy hat and lots of water.
Easy hike . Stairs might be trouble for those of you out of shape. Take panorama shots!
Take sunscreen & water
Walk in, $1 pp, drive in, $5/car. Expect about half hour up, 10 min at top, 15 min down
This hike was really awesome. Definitely recommend hiking shoes or at least sneakers - Pelin Güvenç Kefel
It looks gorgeous from the airplane, dont raise your expectaions on crater look when you climb up. It looks ordinary. Good Waikiki view tho ????☺️ - Ece
