The best time to go is during the day, when you can snag a table and enjoy the river breeze while eating a delicious burger and cooling off with a bucket of Coronas .
Among the artifacts on site: a railroad barge, a lightboat called The Frying Pan, a fireboat named John J. Harvey, and a float bridge . Oh, and don't forget the caboose sitting on the barge. Read more
Grab your shades and ditch any excess clothing ; boat bar season is upon us once again. Head to the Lightship Frying Pan and order a bucket of Coronas or a pitcher of some of New York's best sangria . Read more
This is a great place for friends, work, family or a date. It's all about the awesome atmosphere of the partially covered outdoor bar . Drinks are good, staff is attentive and the snacks are fun & tasty
A unique bar situated on a barge and boat on the west side of Manhattan. This place offers great views of the developing West Side Yards skyscrapers , lower Manhattan and New Jersey
Great place to spend summer evenings! We've tried calamari , lobster roll , white sangria and fish'n'chips - all amazing! Service is excellent too! Also they accept group reservations
Love it here! Good food, great view . A nice place to chill with good people. From here head down to the Biergarten on 13th and 10th
Perfect for a sunny day in NYC! Get there early and enjoy Sea Dog Blueberry Wheat Ale on draft! Ask for real blueberries . ????????
The bar and grill that operates the wet-docked complex is hailed for its white sangria and extraordinary seating. After all, where else can you imbibe on the deck of a formerly sunken lightship? Read more
Would you like to pay $6 for a corona? Would you like to be surrounded by the best NJ, Long Island , and Westchester have to offer? Then this is the place for you! GREAT for out of town guests.
An awesome summer spot, this old boat offers the perfect spot to sit back with some beers and watching the sun set over Manhattan. Definitely grab some food - the hanger steak is a personal favorite.
Mon-Wed after work you should be able to grab a table. Anytime after that it'll prob be pretty crowded . Try the Alphabet City Blonde Ale . It's delicious.
Yuppie douchebags from all over swarm this place after work - so if you can, go during the day, when you can enjoy the maritime vibe, breeze off the harbor , amazing views , and tasty food!
It's a fun time off the water on the west side highway. It's 3 boats chained together with decent food & drinks. The prices are are fair for the city . It's not classy , it's a dive bar on the water.
The place where all New Yorkers flock to as the weather gets warmer for its ambience, views , bar snacks and buckets of corona . The sangria by the pitcher is one of my favourites.
June 20th: It’s a summer tradition: Sip a glass of white wine and watch the sunset at the Frying Pan, a docked boat off the Hudson. Read more
I don't even like seafood but I will order the fried oysters every time I'm here! They are life changing! Get here early to enjoy your food and drinks while you watch the sun set.
Nice place, great view . On the downside they really punish smokers, as in you have 3 benches (not tables) near the entrance where the only view you get is the locomotive in front of you.
Awesome place to waste an afternoon if you can put up with the crowd. Grab a bucket of Coronas and try to grab a table on the upper level.
Just off Hudson River Park in Manhattan is a floating maritime museum that doubles as a bar . The bar and grill that operates the wet-docked complex is Pier 66 Maritime, hailed for its white sangria .
Cool to party on an actual docked boat but can get crowded . Don't be afraid to come if it's drizzling because there are places with coverage and the rain weeds out the crowds. It's expensive .
A must visit in the summer. What better way to enjoy the warm weather than on a boat overlooking the water? A mixed crowd of 20-somethings up to 40-somethings. Lines get long so get there early
A pitcher of sangria and a few orders of old bay fries is the cure for a very humid summer night.
Watch sunset on the water over a cold beer ; their bar offers some tasty local options like Chelsea's Checker Cab ale and whatever seasonal option Brooklyn beer has on draft.
Definitely a great place to go to for Brunch , a bit overpriced but what isn't in NY? Make sure to get here before noon or you'll be waiting in line for an hr or two.
I don't know what took me so long to get here but this place was perfect for a summer night with a large group. Great views for a night of outdoor drinking.
An awesome, unique bar . There's always a great crowd here and has a nice beer selection . On a nice day, you can get a great breeze off the Hudson River .
Great summer spot in the water.. There usually is a line but it moves quick! Go after the work or during the day, always a good time!
Great spot on the water. Good appetizers and bucket of beer options . Perfect spot for friends.
I remember this place from 2009, when you could walk in instead of waiting for hours! But still, it's pretty cool. Great place to chill after work on a hot summer day/night.
While this may not be this bar 's maiden voyage you're definitely going down. Not in the kinky-cool-back-of-the-taxi way, more so because of the sublime sun vs alcohol chemistry at play.Wear a raincoat

Get there early for a spot at the top level and near the end ! - great views of the city and water
Great outdoor venue, fun and lively atmosphere , decent drinks, white sangria is great, cheese plate works as well
Watching the sunset on a boat with a bucket of beer is pretty much the perfect way to end your summer day.
Kick back on one of the few remaining light ships (built in 1929). I recommend the 16-foot observation plank in the summer and take in the breeze. They serve good specialty beers here. Booyashick.
Crayfish Roll and a Crappy Patty! Deal! Great summer atmosphere. A few douche bags and a few cool kids. Chill Vibe.
One of my favorite bars in Manhattan. Makes you feel like you took a trip out of NYC. Try the Sangria !
One of my favorite bars in the city . Great waterfront open space . The sangria is perfect for summer afternoons.
Super chill place with a great crowd. My only complaint is that it gets pretty packed and it's hard to find seating
Good food, great views ! Careful guidelines implemented due to Covid, so I felt really safe.
nice & fancy - you should check it out. Great view in the summer. Prepare to feel floating even before get drunk :-)
Great place to hang. If you easily feel sea sick don't sit in back or upper decks
Causal outdoor boat area. Gets very busy though, and can be tough to get a table. Everything is self-service here.
If you go for the happy hour portion, get there by 5pm or you will have a tough time getting a table. Also, if a willing female invites you to see the galley below decks... go. Read more
Came here for a staff party. Great Sangria , wings, quesadillas and other bar food. Beautiful water views of the city
Favorite summer place by the hudson river ! Their sangrias are good with a side of chips or their burger !
A great place to relax with some white sangria and enjoy the gorgeous sunsets !
H2S's David Hull suggests The Frying Pan for possibly the best outdoor drinking spot in the city . Burgers and beers on docked boats on the river . Great views . Hilarious people-watching.
If it weren't for the bros, I'd probably love it here. Alas, there are too many Lacoste-clad dudes toting buckets of Corona .
Hesitant between a pretzel or a wurst? Stop and try the Pretzelwurt Amanda; a little bit of both worlds! ♥️ - Salim Afiune Maya
