Always, no matter what, too crowded . And they take the whole German beer garden theme seriously because they have no good American beer , and everyone knows American beer is best these days.
Although the Biergarten is open year-round, we love it best for summer drinking . With communal seating , ping pong tables , unique beers on draft and pretzels for noshing , it's a fun al fresco hangout.
The room in the back is great if you're looking for something a bit more quiet and tucked away. Get tickets for beer & food at the entrance, or just go straight to the bar at the right for cocktails
Bar with great atmosphere. Good for having great beers , flirting, playing ping pong . You name it. At the end I hit the Standard Grill for some good oysters
Beer is always amazing! Gets crowded , but can usually swoop up a seat for you & your crew within minutes. Fully enclosed with heat lamps (that work) all winter. Oh, and there's Ping pong , nuff said.
Decent selection of German beers . Nice and loud like a proper Biergarten . Pretzels and sausages are also fantastic. Great place for happy hour but get there early! Young crowd.
Line up to buy tickets which you have to use at the beer and food bars . Then cash them in for large, salty and soft pretzels with spicy or wholegrain sweet mustard . For non-beer drinks, 1 cocktail bar
Incredibly crowded on summer evenings and weekends, but it can be nice on a weekday. The highline above acts like an echo chamber and it gets super noisy . And what's up with the tickets?
Hesitant between a pretzel or a wurst ? Stop and try the Pretzelwurt Amanda; a little bit of both worlds! ♥️
Such a great contradiction to the pretentiousness of The Standard Hotel . Such a great outside area for young people who just want to enjoy a good beer . I would absolutely go back.
Good for sunny - hot days! It is beneath the high line . Nice place with a few but interesting beers !
Great bar with amazing vibe, outdoor area and crowd. Best of all the bartenders are lovely - such amazing staff , especially Melody.

Awesome casual spot for beers and German street food . Less busy during winter but still pretty cool as you have more space to sit down!
The pretzels and beers are authentic and good, but the food was disappointing.
One study suggests that drinking beer might improve the immune system. A study using monkeys (you may now imagine a tanked chimp) found that one or two drinks could help fight infection. Read more
Great location, right underneath the highline . It pays homage to The roots with the wait staff dressed up & the German named cocktails & beers . Food is standard. Sadly The crowd has become douchey
You gotta get tickets to buy the steins of beer and food. Cool spot when the weather is nice although it tends to get very crowded .
Such a fun atmosphere . Only serve beer , so make sure that's okay with everyone you're with. A great place for a first date, laid back and fun, kind of like a grown up, classier frat party.
Chicken sausage and a beer = perfect combination and great atmosphere, more casual and fun compared to the rest of the glitzy options in meat packing
You have to buy tickets for each beer at the entrance. Tickets cost 8 bucks which is reasonable. Nice atmosphere for hanging with friends. But the pretzels are also a ticket (ie 8 bucks!) Ridiculous.
Cons: Hard to get seating, Im almost always standing Pros: Drink token system is sometimes irritating, but its efficient, and the heating os great, can be outside even on a cold night
A little bit of Germany in the Big Apple ! Very good German beers and perfect after a long walk on the "High Line "
Steins of German brew, freshly-twisted pretzels , and ping pong all make this the perfect happy hour spot . Read more
Pro tip: Avoid the crowds by reserving one of the “Stammtisch” tables, which are hooked up directly to the tap lines Read more

The Standard hosts the funnest game of bingo you will ever play! Complete with DJ , MC, dance-offs and sing-offs. You won't regret it
If you go and it's not completely flooded with people, it might seem weird the absence of music , but once full the place is all the fun you expect any summer afternoon in downtown Manhattan .
The Standard Biergarten is basically a New Yorker's Disney World. Enjoy brunch at the Grill, pretzels and beer at the Biergarten , and dance the night away at Boom Boom & Le Bain.
Great place, beer lovers heaven. Come with 2,4,6... the more the merrier.
A great spot for any night of the week...or either weekend during the day. Open in the summer & winter. get the 1L beers for $16...it's worth it.
Great after work vibe. Drink beer , play ping-pong, flirt and celebrate being young and beautiful in NYC.

Nice on a warm day, but no air con as it's basically outside, so be prepared! Great cocktails .
'Classic' german bier garten. Grab a mug and a pretzel ! Full bar if you want some cocktails instead.
Thanks to outdoor heaters and multiple bars , the Standard Hotel’s oversized indoor-outdoor beer hall remains packed and pouring year-round.
A classic summer afternoon in the city , don't miss the cocktail menu ! Great for groups .
If you're here on a Sunday night (or any night) and you ask yourself whether or not the night will go deep. Heads up - Its going to.
