Butao Ramen

Been a long time since I've been back. I love the texture of the noodles & the soft egg is my fav. I tried a limited time offer of their special tomato soup . It was good with chunks of tomatoes .

Tried original and black. Great quality and flavour . Tip : go for a higher spicy level if you like spicy - if not you’ll miss a bit of the spicy kick . Levels 1 and 2 are nothing ...

very fast service , offers English menu, personally found the portion too small - but you can ask for more noodles when you order. loved the atmosphere and can't wait to try their other ramen !

Amazing ramen - and very affordable . I got the red king. Be careful with spice levels - as it can get spicy . Super tasty!

Squid ink ramen looks weird but it's so good! Soup is creamier and thicker than usual ramen broth. Portions are pretty small. I definitely want to go back to try the green ramen .

The ramen in Hong Kong. Treat with respect. Might be a bit crowded in the evening, but it's worth it.

I find that this place is so much better than Ippudo in food quality. I like how you get to customize your ramen with what you want in it.

Very well prepared and tasty ramen (tried the black one), place is small, so you would probably need to wait in the queue.

The line is quite long. The wait can be up to one hour in busy period, but only 10 minutes when it's quiet . Each bowl of ramen is $95. I think it's the best ramen in Hong Kong.

Still my favourite ramen place , mostly for their rich flavoured pork bone soup base. The new location is more comfy than the old one, no line up on a Sunday morning at 11:30.

Get their "green king" if you're looking for something different! The Parmesan cheese hits the spot when it mixes with the soup base!

Go for Butao then increase richness to the max and you’ll get the same muddy creamy richness of Red without much of the heat 👍

A must eat in HK. Best ramen ever. Everything from the veg , char Siew , noodles to the soup is fantastic. Come early as they usually sell out and close at 730pm

Best Ramen I found in HK, and I tried a few. That broth has crazy flavour. Not such a fan of their black king . The queue isn't that bad at dinner , really.

Good ramen . Nice thick broth. The cwb branch was one of my go to places for ramen . Go less oil with medium firm noodles

You choose how you want your ramen made. If you like spicy go higher than recommended level 1.

Spicy ramen is definitely the ramen of choice. Spicy but not too overwhelming

I tried the tonkotsu ramen . The soup had a nice silky texture and rich taste. But the noodles .. The noodles had a noticable odor of alkali salts (ammonia smell) commonly used in HK wonton noodles .

Really worth the price: reasonable amount of noodle and meat. You can also customise your ramen . Try: black king

Excellent ramen . All elements from oil to broth to firmness of noodles is customisable. You must also order the additional egg .

If you visit Butao alone, you may skip the queue. Tell the staff you are not in a group, and s/he will invite you directly inside the restaurant if there is a spot for one person.

Had to wait a little bit in the rain but they provides umbrellas, ramen was great, careful cos the spicy one is super fiery

was the ramen good? Yes. Was it worth waiting for an hour? No. My humble opinion, Mist? in CWB is just as good and you don't have to wait forever.

If you plan to order the black king best to be wearing dark colored clothing unless you want to walk out with stained clothing

15 min for one on a weekday at 3:30pm; 20 for a couple; 30 for a group of 4. Weekday lunch - 1hr+ for all

Less salt and soy sauce for Black King , or it is just too salty with squid ink .
