the U.S. Navy will shuttle you from the center to the sloping white memorial. You see oil that still slowly seeps up to the water's surface from the wreckage 😢you can pay your respects
While most people who go here will take the free tour , the packaged tours they offer are really worth it. You get to see more of the harbor and other memorials not accessible by the public.
Make sure to arrive super early. The lines can be long!
Beautiful memorial and important place of remembrance. Be sure to make reservations online weeks ahead. A few tickets will be available at 3pm the day before, as well .
Definitely do the audio tour . It will provide the historical context that will make your visit meaningful. If you are planning a Honolulu visit this place is definitely must-see!
Make sure to watch the film it educational and very emotional. Tours are free and pay your respects remember this is a memorial.
Speak to ranger Naomi Drye. Ask her the story of the tears of the sailors. Tell her Karina and her little girl, Kara, from Maine, will always remember it. :)
Very moving. I was incredibly annoyed by those who laughed and giggled while viewing it. Have some respect !
A very moving experience. You watch a short film before the boat ride to the memorial. No large bags are allowed. Oil still leaks from the ship at two quarts a day, known as the "Black Tears".
I liked the way they made it a real memorial place to the lives lost here. It was midweek and the parking lot was full at 10.30. Make reservations online at least a day earlier!

Sunken remains of the battleship were declared a National Historic Landmark in 1989. Oil can still be seen from the ship; & is referred to as “Tears of the Arizona” or “black tears.”
An amazing place to see and visit. Mind you this is not a place where you act foolish and carry on. I loved it so much and was so touched

Sentimental place in US history. With the sun shining in the blue sky's of Hawaii, it's hard to believe what happened in the exact place you are standing some years ago.

Everyone says to go early in the AM but we went at 2:40 on a saturday after the cruise ships left and it was empty! We got 3pm tix for the boat ride over to the memorial. Perfect!
You can wait "standby" for the boat ride over to the USS Arizona - our tix were for 11:45 and we got on the 8:30 boat!
Stepping foot there, you can't Help feeling Great Sorrow, for this Fateful Day! My Grandpa was working at Pearl Harbor at the time of the Attack. Retired Pipefitter born on 4th of July 1922
Get their early so you don't have to wait around all day to get out to the Memorial. Also, thank every veteran you see. They really appreciate it! :-)
Take it from someone who lives in Pearl Harbor, morning is not the best time. That's when it's the most crowded . Try and catch the last boats at 3-4 for a mellow not too crowded visit
Still under renovation and repairs, but the boat tour will still take you right up to it!
Be quiet and respect the thousands of lives entombed underneath you. The people giggling and laughing and cracking jokes were not appreciated.
Worth the price of admission and more.
Visit early. The tickets are free, but the lines get longer later in the day. Also visit the many museums on site, all are free.

The audio tour was very emotional, listening to the survivors talk about that day was heartbreaking.
