Seems counter intuitive but try the Grit & Egg Vegetarian Sandwich (yet add bacon ) - it's a filling sammich layered with a grits patty, green chiles , cheese , greens and comes with a side of choice.
The good: Cheerwine! Big Red! tap root beer , great service,Texas hot link . The average: Brisket , potato salad . The bad: super dry ribs , mushy pulled pork , flavorless cole slaw , weak rolls.
San Diego brewery Saint Archer is finally getting distributed in these parts, and while it's available at beer-centric retailers , this is the only restaurant carrying it. Stop by for happy hour . Read more
Meat tastes great - I had brisket and chicken . Combo platter meat portions could have been bigger, but I was plenty hungry to start with. Love the cole slaw . Potato salad is creamy and delicious.
One of the best burgers in the city . Probably THE best if a thiner flavorful patty coupled with gourmet sesame seed bread , and creative toppings is your burger preference.
Ahhhh I love the veggie and egg burger here. It’s one of their best. I have tried so many veggie burgers but this is unbeatable.. a must try you guys...
Wonderfull BBQ joint right in San Francisco. Almost feels if you are in Texas. Great to sit outdoor with good weather. The deep-fried mac-and-cheese cake may sound weird, but it's surprisingly tasty.
Get the amazing deep-fried mac-and-cheese cake known as the Frankaroni ($5), which is studded with bits of 4505's own bacon-studded hot dog . And you might want to add some chimichurri fries to that. Read more
One if the best in SF. Alas, that says more about the paucity of good BBQ in SF than it does about the craft here. Adequate if you don't have time to smoke your own.
Get your brisket , ribs , & burger on at Ryan Farr's takeover of Divis' former Da' Pitt, where you'll be greeted with fried mac and cheese , draft brews, and other delights. Read more
Jeeze Louise this place is incredible! The rib plate is a must. The pork shoulder is to die for. Brisket is solid. Go for the French fries and beans as sides. Skip the potato salad .
The breakfast sandwich has a maple bacon breakfast sausage patty , gruyere cheese , sunny-side up egg and peppercress on griddled sesame and scallion bun . Read more
Excellent vegetarian sandwich - egg , cheesy grits , green chili , and arugula made for plenty of flavor. And don't miss the baked beans ! We also enjoyed the cheeseburger , though it was rather...petite.
Get the Smoked meat plate. With a choice of 3 meats. Why waste time trying to decide when you can pick 3.
Big orders to go, if you're having the dudes over. Wings + white sauce a hit. Expect to wait in line . Breakfast sandwiches on the weekends are pretty clutch, too.
Burger or BBQ ?? So hard to choose. An existential decision every time I come here. Get both! The brisket and ribs are both quite good. The pit chicken may steal the show.
Bring 5 friends and order the presidential. You may want a bit more of the pulled pork or chicken since there isn't a ton.
Pisole and brisket were killer. Portions could be a little bigger, and the sauce wasn’t anything special, but the frankenmac, pickles , and housemaid lemonade were fantastic
The burger is so simple but JUST SO TASTY!!! I love it more every time I eat it ????. Must be eaten immediately upon ordering, or all the juiciness seeps out and makes the bun fall apart ????
It's all good. The brisket is sweet-n-thick and the pork is mustard-n-vinegar, in case that helps you decide. (The fried chicken is boneless , delicious, and frequently sold out.)
Super dog friendly - you can line up with your dog at the counter and then sit together in the outdoor (but covered) seating area
Pulled chicken and pork shoulder were really good! Fried mac n cheese too. I didn't care for the coleslaw or the spicy sausage . Get there early if you want the brisket .
Pulled pork was awesome — and my girlfriend devoured her ribs . Finally some good BBQ .
Brisket is the best here! Fun BBQ lunch under the sun, beyond long line .
Their Brisket is the star...perfectly smoked with a ring of flavor. The spicy sausage and their "Frankaroni " is a must order for the table to sample.
Very good ribs , good brisket , very good pulled pork shoulder . I had 1.5 menus as one is a bit small for my appetite (and I'm pretty slim).
If you plan on getting The Presidential (all the meats, all the sides and all the fixins), there's actually only enough meat for 4 even though they say it's for 6.
Great bbq place . Brisket sandwich is messy but delicious.
Oh my lanta! The grits & egg vegetarian sandwich is amazinggggg. Still serves one of the best fries ????
Ugh. Just so good. Could eat like 3 burgers here in one sitting. Have always wanted to just spend a couple hours here during the day playing cards and drinking beers .
Very tasty BBQ place . My fav. is pulled pork , brisket , n mac&cheese :D if u r here with about group of 4, order the presidential. Pretty good~
Bring a jacket or two or three. It's mostly outdoor seating and it's San Francisco. It will be brisket out.
Outstanding brisket . Outstanding pulled pork . The insane fried mac-n-cheese/hot dog concoction that is the Frankoroni is deadly. Also: awesome.
Eat here. Spicy fries are a must. Pork shoulder , grits+egg sandwich , slaw were all A+. So-so on spicy sausage .
Delicious tea , chicharrones , ribs , fried macaroni and cheese / bacon squares. Yum.
Everything I tried is awesome. Brisket , burger , spicy fries except for the smoked Ribs . They are just ok. A little too dry for me.
Wow! Their burgers and fries were amazing! Definetely coming back to try their BBQ !
Bbq sandwich is a little heavy on the slaw , so get it on the side and add to taste. Keeps it from overpowering the tasty brisket !
top level burger with several choice of beer . its was worth the wait. 40-50$ for two people with beer
Finally found legit central Texas style brisket here in SF. Order by the pound, the plate only has one slice. Request moist / burnt ends .
Delicious ribs and burgers ! Go early as they sometimes sell out of things (we missed out on pulled pork and brisket !!)
The rib plate is amazing. I felt unworthy to consume such a fine slab of meat. And the little fried pocket of mac n' cheese ?!? Perfection.
Any time they have the smothered/loaded fries on special (this is the short rib version), get them!
Everything on the menu is a winner, so just order as much as you can handle, and grab a beer to go with.
Some of the best brisket and fried mac and cheese I've had. Coleslaw is vinegar-based which I'm less of a fan of.
They serve some swell southern sauces. A South Carolina style vinegar and mustard BBQ sauce , a Kansas City style thick and sweet BBQ sauce , and ketchup .
One of the best thin patty burgers in the city . Make it double with an egg and don't forget the frankaroni
You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. But brisket and a root beer ???? and you’re good.
Does not live up to the hype. The sauces aren't anything special. A group of us got a bit of everything & all agreed only the mac n cheese is worth the wait.
According to buzzfeed, top 20 burgers in america. They are worth it. The sauces are delicious, love the mustard !
Very good meat. Get a platter and share with someone. Friendly staff. - Jessica Taylor
Great place for food. Pastrami, brisket and meatballs. There will be a line, but it moves quickly. - Ray Hartjen
Two meat platter with greens and Mac and cheese. 4 types of sauce on the table. Must mix BBQ and spicy. - Jeff Weinstein
Dynamo donuts and great coffee! bread is great as well, but toast can be quite overpriced—buy a loaf and make your own. - Ava
Great place to see a show. Small enough that you feel connected pretty much anywhere but plenty of seating and space. Highly recommend. - LG
