Great alternative to reservoir or loop for running.
A nice, quiet , green, hilly, not-crowded, kid-free place to run in the park .
After summer solstice (abt June 23rd-late July) the fireflies return for their annual mating season. Watch them along this path glow as they signal their prospective mates.
When waiting for free tickets to Shakespeare in the park , make sure there are less than 400 people in front of you. Otherwise, you will be disappointed unless you enjoy queuing.
If you run from 86th st to 102nd & cross at the 96th street overpass forming a figure 8 your distance is 5km for each lap.

Not my favorite place to run as it’s uneven.
