one of the best places on planet Earth... the best collection of artifacts in the world (some missing :( ) the best view Acropolis of Athens and Parthenon, under the Athenian blue sky, 11 out of 10
British Museum should give the rest back. Some claim they are best kept there in London. Come on! This Museum is a symbol of greeks' capability of taking care of their own history. This is beautiful!
Entry: 5 euros. Bag check: free. Indoor/outdoor seating in restaurant . I liked the films in the museum , that helped me learn more without hiring a guide. I spent about 2 hours here.
I cannot appreciate this museum enough! One of the most modern and polished museums I’ve ever been to! The art collection is just mesmerizing. Definitely a must see after going to the Acropolis!
Absolutely incredible museum . Definitely come here before hiking to the top of the Acropolis--it will enrich your experience! Have lunch at the second floor café . The view of the Acropolis is awesome!
Nice location, quite central, easy to access on foot. It may take easily 2hrs, to walk around the exibits and read about them. Better to come to museum before climbing up the Acropolis. Cafe available
Went on a Friday night since the museum is open until 22 or 10pm. Was not busy at all. Learned a lot about Acropolis. Loved the setup of the museum . Cool to see original pieces from Parthenon.
Start at the top floor to see the friezes and pediments set to the original scale, then wander down to see the rest of the exhibition arranged chronologically. So awe-inspiring, with great views !
A very modern building where you can see some of the best examples that the ancient Greek civilization has to offer, located in one of the most beautiful streets of Athens.
The Acropolis was very cool to see in real life there was a lot to take in so make sure you block out the whole day. Once you're done with the sites and museum make sure to check out the neighborhood .
Visit before going to the Acropolis; you will be much more able to envision the majesty of the Parthenon and Erechtheum in their glory days, as well as gaining insight into historical significance.
One of the few museums in the world where the exhibits actually come from its surrounding area. It is massive and its location right across Acropolis of Athens and the Parthenon Temple .
Fantastic modern museum built at the base of the Acropolis over some ruins. Tons of artifacts and presentations. Don’t forget to go below to look at the ruins of dwellings of Ancient Greeks.
Such a beautiful museum , full of history! It is a pitty those british people do not return Parthenon's marbles to their original place.. View from the balcony is second to none!
Nice museum built over the ruins of ancient Athens. Look beneath your feet. Check out the Lego model & the video on the Parthenon.
Definitely worth the trip so make sure you plan accordingly and don't try to go Monday. They're closed. Glad we found out Sunday afternoon and went. They're open till 8pm Sundays.
The first museum you must see just after Acropolis. You can find a lot of info and founding regarding Acropolis (and its construction ). Taking photo is forbidden but take as the other ones :)
Extremely nice setting. Partially original parts and sculptures positioned as they stood on the Acropolis in old times. A must see.
Amazing museum , possibly the best in Greece! The Parthenon gallery is spectacular, and signifies a "subtle" nod towards the British Museum regarding the Elgin Marbles .
Most probably world's best archeological museum . Especially the illustrations showing how the statues were are amazing. No pic allowed inside
Two are the basic world's most famous artifacts in this museum (at least for me). The Caryads and the Parthenon Gallery . Don't miss the great view of the Acropolis from the 3rf floor.
As a French person, going there was living for real what I learnt at school. So I had a blast! Really worth it for your cultural knowledge and for the eyes :-)
The museum is incredibly beautiful with its laconic super-modern design, gracefully emphasized by ancient statues .
No photography on most floors. You don't really need a guide, the plaques are explanatory. The excavations under the glass floor are a great touch. There's a cafe too, with a view of the Acropolis
The ultimate place to visit in Athens. It's simply one of two best museums of the world !!!
Great museum with hundreds of finds and statues from the Acropolis site. New, open and airy: it's a wonderful respite from the summer heat of the city . Only 5 euro entry makes it a must do in Athens!
The missing one is located in the British Museum . SHAME ON THEM
Nice place with multiple facilities I suggest you take a break in the second floor restaurant i had a cappuccino and a honey fruit yogurt 🍦 ☕️
Must see. Amazing experience. Get your ticket online at the same price to skip the line .
Considering the importance of this place to Greek and European history, the beauty of the artefacts it holds and modernity of the building, it cannot be missed while you're in Athens. Very affordable
Very impressive museum . Enjoyed every bit of it. We loved the breakfast as well . Yummy bread and marmelad:) however do not expect any flexibility from waiters when it comes to additional requests.
It is definitely worth a visit before climbing to Acropolis. Some of the original pieces of Parthenon are exhibited here whereas what you'll see on top some of it will only be casts.
A beautiful and massive museum . It is very modern and you can see the underground ruins through the floor. But you can see how everything is at the British Museum ... A bit sad
Love it. How can't you not. Phenomenon building with the greatest history/civilization the world ever had. I am so proud i'm a part of this greatest civilization, this great GREECE <HELLINAS> respect!
Go at golden hour. You won't regret it. And save time for a coffee or tea at the cafe , great selection with the best view you can get in Athens: the Parthenon.
Beautiful, bright and modern building with exhibitions teaching you everything you need to know before visiting the Acropolis. Especially the "colourful statues"-exhibition was interesting.
This museum is an experience. Totally worth seeing the whole depiction and layout of the Parthenon marbles , even the replicas of those stolen by Elgin.
An amazing museum for an amazing history! You can come close to your past and feel part of it! Get to know the place where everything began...
A number of great mediterranean food choices and excellent quality coffee together with such views of the Acropolis makes the museum restaurant totally worth the visit.
This contemporary museum , dedicated to one of the most popular monuments in the world is unmissable! Take a look at its glass facade and see the ancient monument being reflected in all its glory!
Very informative and interesting place to learn about Greek history and culture! Not to be missed if you're in Athens
Wod class museum . If you're into history this place is a must! Good wifi and rooftop café .
Learn about ancient greek civilization, accomplishments, culture even habits! Watch the video about Parthenon on third floor and notice the location of the sculptures . It's a simulation of Parthenon!
really lovely salads in the café and nice seating area looking out to the Acropolis. Exhibition was interesting, good range of artefacts.
After visit Acropolis, you must have to go to this museum . Reserve 3 hours to look around and watch the video that explains how Acropolis was build and the parts of the building.
Amazing pantheon to passive aggression towards the British Museum . Hilarious.
Walking side by side the iconic Parthenon ,in every step you ask yourself the same question:Why so much destruction ?How magnificent it must have been ? A work of gods for sure ,all 12 of them.
It is a fantastic museum with many of the finds from the Acropolis including my favorit "the peplos kore".
Acropolis museum . A piece of art that exceptionally deserves the iconic landmark above. This interaction must be completed with the restoration of the stolen parts displayed in Britain.
The building is properly designed as a modern museum with great organization and lighting. The museum is built over ancient ruins which can be seen through the glass floor.

We visited it in the middle of the day, and it was not crowded. It is also an excellent option to buy Acropolis joint tickets to escape the long queue there. - Amirpasha Mozaffari
