A bucket list must see. The entire Acropolis offers so much history and not just about the Parthenon structure . Various temples on other buildings are on top as well .Bring some water as it can get hot
Best tip to avoid queue: buy a 30€ combination ticket at one of the other six archeological sites which are far less crowded . If you do this you can skip the line at Acropolis. Take eastern entrance.

Beautiful view and gorgeous buildings of the antic greek empire. But the floors were really slippery, everyone fell at least two times. I even saw a man getting injured... There must be a solution!
Since 1987 UNESCO World Heritage , the Acropolis is a place where probably Europe was founded. The view over the city is breathtaking, we enjoyed every second on this historical place.

The climb will leave you huffing, so wear the shoes you would for hiking . As is true for all major historic sites , you will not be alone. The sweeping views and the history make it all worth it, tho.

This is a must see place in Athens. Beautiful ruins, but the view from the top alone is worth the money. It's very slippery though, so wear good flat shoes !

Seeing it is absolutely worth it. Prepare for a soup sandwich of organization . Get to the Acropolis as early as possible and use the automated machines to purchase. “Skip the line ” tickets do not work
Doesn’t matter when you go, make sure you wear shoes that grip well . Pink stones/marbles close to the top (& at the top) are very slippery. Also don’t wear skirts as the top is pretty windy ????

It's kindof a (perpetual) construction site here which seriously degrades the experience - and might be cause to skip this down your list - but the views out are amazing..
There is a large rock outcropping on the west side just outside the fence where people go to watch the sunset over Athens every night. Grab some Mythos and check it out.

Bring a water bottle and wear a hat, especially if visiting in midsummer. Otherwise you risk being so uncomfortable in the sun and heat that you won't want to spend the time this site deserves.
Crowded and expensive , but its a must-see! Get the extended ticket if you plan to see the sites it offers as you will save a bunch

A must see when visiting Athens. Cash only for the entrance. Better to visit in the morning or evening when it is fresher than during the afternoon.
I wish they had more free entries during the year for the citizens. The ticket is too high for a family visit at the historical monuments
Take the South slope , more stuff to see along the way. Worth going to the Museum before you go there.
Looks much more impressive from outside ( e.g. from ancient agora ). Just a few ruins at the top. Still really liked the atmosphere - well worth 20 euro.

The site is not really big, a couple of hours max. If you'd like to see all the ancient monuments of the city buy the 12€ tickets package, totally worth it!
Such a beautiful place... Until you get asked to leave, there is a really cool looking rooftop terrace you can see from the top, don't be fooled... There's no alcohol there
