Mahai'ula Beach is a beach Kona located in United States.
Kekaha Kai State Park Kona , HI 96740 United States
Easy access by car , has picnic tables , we also saw lot of people snorkeling here. You can see a lot of flights taking off as this place is next to Kona airport . Nice views !
Lots of opportunity for shade, amazing sand, gorgeous views . Rough road to get here, but worth the bumps.
One of Big Island 's best beaches on the Kohala Coast!
Only place on the island I’ve ever seen Hawaiian monk seals ! There’s two other hike-in beaches nearby too.
Inexplicably this beach has two parking spots , but it is not accessible by car at all. Baffling.
Clear water and beautiful scenary...cannot ask for more
Hawaiian Monk Seal baby and mom. Might be around for another 30 days or so...
Quite the drive in. May want to pack a spare tire just in case. But worth it!!
Bringing a lower profile car here isn't impossible but not recommend. A nice mix of shady and sunny spots. Not really good for surfing .
Come with a suv!
Beautiful beach but tough drive in. Gets very windy in the late afternoon.
Nice trees for shade!
Beautiful views .
Gorgeous and remote.
Beautiful white sand beach !
Avoid sand sharks!
Leve snorkel!!! Maravilhoso!
Great set of beaches for differing levels of hike ambition. Also one of the few places you might see monk seals - Mark J.
A great sunbathing beach but not too good for swimming. High waves and sharp rocks close to the shore. - Quintein
Amazing crystal clear aqua blue beautiful water...lots of 20 and 30 something's and families with young children. So much fun!! Great body surfing/boogie boarding! Bring water shoes for the lava hikes - Brittany Smith
Hard to find the sand we expected. Surf came right up to the rocks and was rough. It is winter. Restrooms and parking. - Brian Duncan
Be sure to stop when driving by after dark ... the stars are magnificent. You won't see the Milky Way like this back on the mainland. - Dean Suhr
Sandy with hood areas to snorkel. Can be a bit rough. We stayed near the area with restrooms, but if you walk the path surfing looked good. - Brian Duncan
