Museum of Arts & Design (MAD)

Hands down one of my favorite museums in the city . Lovely space and the exhibitions are so well curated. I especially look forward to the videos that accompany what's on view .

MAD is one of the most underrated museums in the city . When we look at everyday objects, most people rarely think of design. The exhibits at MAD will make you think, feel and look around once more

Cool place to check out, and always something worth seeing, but sometimes the exhibits inside don’t level up to the architecture of the building.

Lovely museum , perfect size for a 2-hour visit. The temporary exhibits manage to fascinate no matter the subject. Nice restaurant with views of Central Park on one of the upper floors.

Located off of Central Park , MAD exhibits contemporary handmade objects created using a variety of media. Be sure to visit the gift shop for its selection of interesting & unusual items & gifts .

A relatively small museum but the exhibits are often unique. Take the stairs ; they offer a few surprises.

Super chill super cool place. Never crowded . A welcome retreat from MoMA madness. And (this counts) the security guards are fucking cool.

Explore the exhibit , "Hanging Around: Necklaces from the MAD Collection". Don't be shy about opening the drawers below the displays-- truly many beauties to discover!

Great museum . I absolutely like the crochet coral reef project by the Wertheim sisters.

If you're into design, you must visit MAD if you're in the NYC. On the top floor you can visit the designer's studios and watch them at work.

Very interesting collections, but with only two floors currently open (three total collections), it's not worth the admission.

Get coffee on the top floor for amazing views over Central Park for only the cost of an over priced coffee at $7.

Check out the Open Studios on the 6th Floor where you can see artists and designers in residence work on their craft. Fun!

A great place to spend some time enjoying art in a chill , non-frenzied environment.

Though lesser known, the Museum of Art and Design is earning raves from attendees – and it’s just across the street.

Body & Soul are very powerful arts revealing dark sides of human nature. It ends on March 2, 2014.

The otherworldly exhibition of dioramas from all over the world is a must see, thank me later.

Love the current collar exhibit and the Asian artists showing.
