A gateway to Singapore’s nature reserves, the MacRitchie Reservoir Park is a popular spot for nature lovers and exercise enthusiasts. With hiking trails, kayaks and canoes for rent, it is also a great place for recreational activities, both on land and in water.

Come here for a breathe of fresh air and beautiful reservoir views . Many trails of different difficulty for hikers/ runners either along the perimeter of reservoir or in the tropical rainforest.
Beautiful park , can go by MRT (Caldecott or Marymount station) or bus . No admission fee, has locker & shower room, restaurant . Need 5~7 hours for trakking.
Filled with hiking trails , you can take a slow stroll around water catchments or trek to the Treetop Walk – a 250m suspended bridge connecting two hilltops which allow a bird’s eye view of the forest .
Accessible and relatively big reservoir with many routes available, either for walks or jogging. Paths sometimes quite narrow given the many runners and walkers with dogs.
Dog friendly and with beautiful reservoir views . Long trail and heaps of shaded spots and walkways if you’re not a huge fan of the sun.
The boardwalk around the perimeter of the MacRitchie Reservoir brings the visitor through interesting secondary forest in the Central Catchment nature area.
Did u know? As of 2011, two-thirds of Singapore's land surface is used for water catchment . We now hv 17 reservoirs to store water naturally. MacRitchie was the 1st to be built. Source: PUB
Nice place to both exercise or jog for relaxation. You can sometimes meet some little monkeys or tortoises near the lake . They're quite cute !
Fantastic walk. Watch for food snatching monkeys though. Keep food well hidden when you are at main rest stops. Was also a monkey on the tree tops bridge when we went.
Can buy some water or foods at this Mushroom cafe . Also keep the bag or backpack etc. at the locker room .
Such a great place of nature! There's a natural trail up to the tree top. So gg up there next time! Don't bring any food, ignore the monkeys n drink loads of water!
Try to locate the ruins of a Shinto temple near the golf course . It's hidden a couple of meters in the shrubbery.

For a looooong hike (abt 10.5km), start from the entrance near St Theresa's home, all the way to the tree top walk and back. Great shaded trail and great workout!

You can find the architectural remains of a shinto gate of Shonen Jinja shrine built here during the Jap Occupation. Film @ Nat'l Museum of Singapore shows a ceremony taking place at the spot.
Great place for a brisk walk or jog.
Dont miss the tree top walk ! Walk the entire circuit on both sides to catch flora and fauna! Beware of monkeys though and you also might be lucky to see some water snakes and turtles .

Toilet has bag deposit. Leave your stuff there, go for your exercise and come back to shower up.
GETTING TO KNOW MACRITCHIE. 2nd Saturday of every month, 9am. Suitable for young children. On the actual day, meet at the Amenities Centre at 8.55am.
Lockers are available at the toilet near the Mushroom Cafe .

Go to MacRitchie Reservoir for kayaking . Kayak rental is 15sgd/hour. You can choose kayak that fits 1 person or 2 persons with the same price. The rental opens at 9am.

Dis part lots of monkeys ..so dont leave ur things around cz they will tke it.Today took some1 H20 and run away.
The view for 10 km run (golf course view ) is awesome and breathtaking:)

I really hope that Singapore Govt bodies do something about that Rascals Monkeys !!!
Monkeys have been increasing and they are not afraid of we humans. Occasionally they will attack humans by snatching food from their hands. :(
