This must be the most amusing section at the MET! has some pieces over 4000years old. Lots of statues , hieroglyphs&ancient temples . The Egyptian collection is second to none other than in Egypt itself
The Temple of Dendur is massive and incredible. The Temple base is lined with carvings of papyrus and lotus plants seemingly growing right out of the water. Just beautiful!
Walking into that space will blow your mind. Note, it will ALWAYS be crowded , so your hopes of having a pristine photograph taken are pretty much shot. Put down your smartphones and enjoy the beauty
Experience the dimly lit, claustrophobically narrow tombs and ponder art (and a great civilization) from 2,000-3,000 years in the past.
