Compared to the overpriced, waiting-line-only affairs you'll find a few miles north, the Big Sur River Inn is a quaint, old-California establishment with good people, tasty food and happy living.

If you're staying at the inn , the beds are super comfy . If you're eating at the restaurant , the gaucho steak hits the spot.

Lamb chops are so juicy and succulent. Yummy

While other parts of the U.S. are dealing with not so wonderful weather we are enjoying the river and the warmth. Come sit with us.

The blueberry pancakes were great . And do try their Mocha . Just out the world !

best place for a weekend escape. Enjoy an afternoon in the big wooden chairs in the middle of the creek.

Grab a refreshment and a stogie and sit on the wood chairs by the river and relax. No crowds in the winter!

This place has nice rooms overlooking the Big Sur River . Quiet and isolated, the inn boasts not having any TV or phone services, but it's funny that I can still get WiFi internet service here.

This is a cute place, great restaurant . The rooms are loud (next to highway) but I wouldn’t let that deter you.

Get your cocktails at the bar and drink them down into the river .

Great place to stay and great food. On a hot day sit in the river with a cool beer . Awesome.

The potato skins were good. Thr Roasted eggplant is a misleading name for what the dish actually looks and tastes like. But enjoyed both these starters.

Tourist prices unfortunately. Stunning location though!

We stopped at the Big Sur inn , but were treated very poorly by the hostess . The manager offered no apology and his final comment to us was "this restaurant is not suitable for people like you"

May through June Big Sur River Inn hosts live entertainment every Sunday afternoon.

The fried artichokes are a must for appetizer !

the food was ok nothing great. the calamari was not fresh. only highlight is the tables in the river where you can take your togo food
