There aren't a lot of classic cinemas left in the city now that megaplexes are here, but this single-screen theater is still going strong. Pro tip: try to sit in the balcony . Read more
The ultimate date-night destination to see a movie . If you really want to impress your date, try to snag a seat on the balcony - the view is great!
One of my favorite movie theaters to go to alone or with another movie lover. Their movie selection is amazing you don't see everywhere; also best sound system I've ever heard in a movie theater
A great place for a unique movie experience . The theater has a really vintage feel to it and shows only one movie at a time. Try to be seated on the balcony where you will have the best view
Look over the worn carpets and rickety seats. It’s a step back in time. the clientele is locals who have been coming here for decades. A NY institution. Bonus: a chance to meet the filmmakers.
This is one of the more unique theaters in Manhattan. The screen isn’t that large but there are tons of seats with velvety cushions.
cute little old movie theatre! one cinema , located close to 5th avenue to take a stroll through designer street after the movie .
A real NYC treasure showing indie and foreign films . Curtained screen and a balcony , this is how films were meant to be seen. Go on a weekday afternoon and pretend to be a middle aged lady of leisure
Free popcorn and drink with admission (at least when I went). Shows Netflix originals and the occasional revival.
A great little theatre but BEWARE LADIES! They don't let you in until 15 min before the movie starts, so head down to the 3-stall ladies room ASAP, especially if you wanted to get snacks too...
Nice one-screen, but chairs seem built for short people (zilch neck support). No trailers, so be on time.
The best place to see a movie in New York. Grab some popcorn and take a seat on the balcony .
Be sure to arrive right when seating begins because they will start the movie on time even if they haven’t gotten through the line .
The bathroom lines can be excruciatingly long. As an alternative use the public bathrooms in The Plaza hotel across the street and pee in peace .
Beautiful theater, very friendly staff !
Charming theater! Loved sitting in the balcony .
Cozy atmosphere , very nice theatre . Always great, unique selection of films .
One of the city 's last remaining cinemas of comfort. (And perhaps the whitest audience in America.) Always amazed at the teensy little concession stand. Right across from The Plaza , Pulitzer Fountain ,
Excellent movie theater . Such a cool old school vibe to this place. Sit in the balcony for a better view .
Love the old school charm of this single screen theater
I find The Paris to offer the best buttered popcorn in the city . If they are making it fresh, don't hesitate to get some!
Great theater.. sit in the balcony when you can!
Classic NY Cinema , renovated and comfortable . Concessions are ridiculously expensive .
Nice theatre , perfect for going to the movies solo
People taking their kids to 'The Illusionist' are parents of the year. The closest I ever got to seeing a Tati as a kid was when my dad accidentally threw a lit cigar into our outside trash bin.
Curtains slides open and close over the screen like old time movie theater . Very romantic .
Cute old school theater, slightly elevated seating, quiet .
Great film selection. It's nice inside but wow, what a treat when you walk outside at night, facing the Plaza Hotel .
I prefer the view from the mezzanine area.
Large vintage theatre-house showing indie films . A date destination
The great single theater room is not fussy nor overly priced. It's a great way to experience uniqueness in the city .
Don't wait on line for their crummy bathroom . Hop across the street and use the Plaza 's.
Get the best view by sitting in the center seats up in the mezzanine .
Wonderful old theatre. I love it because of its balcony .
Nice, comfy theatre, but a very poor selection of food
Love this theater. V civilized !!
Special movies
Highly recommend sitting in the mezzanine for the best view !
A great theatre to see a movie . I've attended several movie screenings there.
Go somewhere else - the floor isn't angled, so a tall person will block your view . Unless of course you are that tall person.
Best popcorn in town !
A gem of a theatre. And there's a balcony .
Go for the balcony
Door is open only 15 min. Ahead of the showtime.
After the movie , use the bathroom at the apple store across the street.
The balcony is underrated
"real industry people sit in the balcony " - BB
The Last Station is playing here - don't miss seeing it!
Seats ride a bit low.
Petite & romantic cinema! U la la!!
Old school theater with modern comfortable seats - Lina Trifon
Great selection of smaller films. Perfect location. Usually not crowded. - Madm Fia
very nice design store , very good costumer service and 24 hours open! ???????????? - SA
It's all about their spectacular windows if for no other reason!! Love the art deco interior and views of Central Park from their 7th floor restaurant! - Arlene Murphy
Great park to walk and bike. Enjoyable. Always something going on. Kayak, merry go round, zoo, concerts, playground - Angi W
