The hotel is great in many ways. Big rooms great service. It's also on top of a steep hill so be prepared to get a nice workout if you want to spend time downtown. I was not impressed by the food.
Be sure to take in the view from the rooftop garden and definitely don't miss having a Mai tai at the tonga room !
Got a discount due to a conference and we arrived late. They put us up in the Napoleon Suite, or should I say, apartment . It was awesome. Staff is super friendly ! Excellent place to stay.
In 1945 the Fairmont hosted international statesmen for meetings culminating in the creation of the United Nations. The UN Charter was drafted in the hotel 's Garden Room.
A majestic and grand old hotel in San Francisco with a great lobby, speedy free wifi for President's Club members and comfortable beds .
The lobby bar is fun for a relaxing night out. The rooms are gorgeous! Look on Expedia for their free valet parking specials.
Go to Laurel Court (the bar/restaurant) and grab an exclusive honey saison from Almanac Brewing made from honey collected on site.
Don't forget to check out Tonga downstairs! One of the coolest restaurant lounges I've been to

There isn't a unique 360 degree view in the penthouse @Eduardo. Bad tip! The only place with 360 views at the Fairmont is in the Crown Room on the top floor of the tower. Penthouse is a hotel room...
It is said that every US President since William Howard Taft has stayed at this hotel . This hotel is the first place Tony Bennett ever sang “I Left My Heart in San Francisco.”
A lot of city history here. Be sure to walk the hall off to the left of the lobby as you enter. There is a fabulous pictorial history of the hotel .
The special events in the Grand Ballroom like fashion shows. I recently attended and shot with my iPhone 6 and was amazed how it was.
I love the lobby bar . Huge and opulent plus great range of good wines
Words cannot explain how beautiful this venue is. The Fairmont is classic luxury . Whether you stay the night or get married here, you cannot go wrong with this beautiful hotel !!!
When you pay us1.100 a night for a room you expect things to turn out right. We made a reservation for a 2 room condo and a special request for a third bed (10 days in advance), but had to GET HERE...
Luxurious insofar as the rooms are comfortable but the minimal F&B offering just isn't up to standards for a luxury hotel .
The roof deck is on the lobby level and is free and open to the public!
Check out the 360 view from the crown room at the top floor of the tower
Excellent service here—be sure to check out history hallway if you’re in the tower, and tip well ! ????
The Fairmont is a beautiful historic hotel but my bed was like sleeping on a slab of concrete. If you want a good night's rest, I'd pick a different hotel .
Beautiful old grande dame hotel on the hill . Some of the room furnishings are getting a bit shabby but the north facing views from the tower are stupendous. Food and beverage is overpriced and meh.
The Tower Rooms elevator is a good distance down the north hallway, keep going past the turn to find them. Lovely hotel .
How to get free wi-fi in the room: go to lobby, login to free wi-fi there, go to fairmont.com, register in President's Club (free), and you'll get membership number you use for free wi-fi in the room.
I've never actually stayed here, but I would absolutely recommend wandering through during the Christmas season . It's all sorts of merry and bright .
Afternoon tea . Excellent ????????
If you sign up at fairmont.com for president's club, you get free wifi and gym usage - even on your first stay. Just sign up before you go to the gym .
The gingerbread house they build for Christmas is definitely worth a visit.
Landmark hotel in San Francisco. Holiday decorations are worth checking out.
Although the hotel is so beautiful, but I don't like the room ! I was in many hotels so I know the room must have a good smell! Our bathroom , after every shower smelled like old pipe!
~$40+tip cherry rose tea was good but light. Amazing orange/mango mini tart and lemon spread
Great fish tacos and friendly waiters at the lobby restaurant . Plan on having them often as a new local
Get a suite... a shower , a shave, a feel of a suit. Then get your haircut on the balcony , get some sun.
Go for a Tower Room . The extra cost is worth it for the best view in San Francisco.
Tonga Room was a nice surprise, beds are comfy and service has been great!
The gingerbread house smells so good
The Tonga Room downstairs is wild, tacky tiki fun. Order a Volcano and call a cab.
Great hotel but the hallways are eerily similar to The Shining!
On May 20, don your black- or white-tie best and grab a mask for the debut of S.F. Symphony & Symphonix's Masked Ball. The Venetian Room will be dripping with decadence, champagne and music .
Where Obama lays his head down when he is not at @ the Getty Mansion.with his hand in the till of the rich and infamous.
Gorgeous hotel . Love the location. Union square is way too touristy .
Take the lobby elevator to the parking level and exit through the garage or cafe and you're right at the Powell st cable car stop.
Concierge , Tom Wolfe is superb. Bangkok suite is blissful. Very lovely hotel .
Would be better to book earlier so that the price is more reasonable. Service is pretty good.
I was not satisfied with Internet. The price of Internet is to high and just one device can connected with one account !
Party with SF Weekly at their DRINK event on 3/12 in the Grand Ballroom , 7pm-9pm. Buy your tickets now at https://www.snagtickets.com/product/view/53511. See you next Saturday!
Wonderful hotel . The maid service is incredibly annoying.
Beautiful lobby! Worth visiting even if you're not staying here
