Love this place! Traditional Japanese boxes (meatballs are amazing) and really good iced coffee . Feels like Tokyo????

Francine Mends

Hoji lattes are thumbs up. The onigiri is a bit rice heavy but comes warm so it’s tasty. Love the salmon bento and they have vegan options !

Tomik Dash

The rooftop is really cool here. Esp in the mornings when no one is up there. Great place to get work done when weather permits.

David Blackman

Japanese cafe - service can be weirdly slow but the food is uniquely heartly/healthy/light, the ambiance is great (beautiful rooftop in the summer) and it has a great vibe

Alyssa B.

The ebi katsu burger is so good! comes with grilled veggies and salad…a perfect summer meal

Daniella

Everything about the salmon bento box is perfection. Hoji latte with almond milk is also the best green tea latte I’ve had.

Chris Gampat

I don’t know if I like their meatballs or their salmon more. But I’ve never had a bad meal here.

Tiffany Hui

The Hoji Latte was perfect- beautifully made and tasted incredible (rich, sweet, toasty flavor).

Tina Z

The Japanese slow drip cold brew is the best cold brew you will ever taste. Tasty (warm, fresh) onigiri , too.

Alex Tsu

Hoji latte will blow you away. Amazing rooftop . Beautifully minimal aesthetics. I’ll be back!

Clare Reidy

Best drip coffee for miles. Love the onigiri especially the one with the flaked salmon !

Ishmael Vasquez

Great coffee , great bentos , and great vinyl music in the background. Coffee is microroasted and is really good. Get a pound if you can.

Kristina Rudic

There’s a second floor that’s kind of hidden so make sure to check it out! A very low key coffee spot that’s never loud or annoying

Jeremy Fisher

Excellent coffee (try the Kyoto-style slow-drip iced coffee ) and great rooftop

Peter Boyce

Phenomenal coffee , Tokyo vibes, rooftop

Sharon G.

The bento boxes were cute . Food within was yummy.Service was nonexistent as far as having to go up and down the stairs because no one bothered to give or tell me where to get chopsticks.

Borja Burgos

"Western" Japanese hip spot with great food (bento boxes ), great coffee (kyoto), fair prices , and an uncovered hot rooftop ...

Ryan Schmukler

Super rich and earthy coffee both in the drip and iced variety. Friendly service . They have a rooftop patio that's pretty cool.

Adam Yaeger

This place is amazing! They have great coffee , friendly service , bento boxes and a great rooftop . It's really all you could ever ask for

Nicola Sebastian

Meatballs , curry , and the teas . Karaage is good too but ask for a side of japanese mayo !

Gerard Lawler

The Japanese fried chicken was bomb ????????

Heidizzle

Super cute and friendly staff , nice surroundings and a little bench outside to enjoy your coffee in the sun.

Peter Elbaor

Great value . Surprisingly good food and at a good price. Solid espresso drinks too

Sue Lee

Everything is delicious, but my go tos are: the milky toast , the stuffed mushrooms , and the pork shabu shabu .

Lin da

Great vibes, old school hip hop , and bentos (top 3 reasons to love this place)

Lane Rettig

The salmon in the grilled salmon bento was maybe the best salmon I've ever had. Unfortunately the rest of the bento was so so!

Mara Lecocq

Great quaint neighborhood place with cute rooftop , friendly staff . Pork Betty bento is great.

Jason Koo

Coolest little find on Montrose. Secret rooftop , quiet , cool, where you can get your reading done. Love it.

Grilled salmon box! Also get the hoji latte ! Delicious!

Tried the Shabu Pork Bento the other day. Quality stuff, definitely down to try all the other stuff soon.

Salmon bento box looked bland, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how flavorful it was. Thumbs up! Kitchen closes at 3.

The hot yuzu tea is wonderful - not too sweet and not bitter from the yuzu . Just right!

Celine Galliano

Love the bento with salmon . Super tasty - meatball are a must too

sunnychang

A quant and well designed café that serves tasty Japanese dishes . Über cool and friendly staff .

Margaret Suh

Try one of their iced teas . Super refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day ☀️???? ????

Sakura Yagi

Cute bento boxes . Great green tea latte . Both can be enjoyed on the adorable rooftop .

Clare Reidy

Big fan of the food after hours but I wish the sushi was slightly cheaper and most importantly that they would invest in proper table ware instead of using single use plastics

Peter Elbaor

Great value . Good food, good price. And solid espresso drinks .

Namü

Hoji latte is good although it's almost impossible to find a seat

Chung-yee Ngo

the pork belly sandwich was delicious and very filling

Onigiri and Japanese ice coffee ! So good. Whaaaaaaa!?

Berk Kapicioglu

A hipster friendly Japanese cafe and restaurant . Food is delicious and cheap . People bring books or laptops to study. There isn't a lot of spots to sit. Service is quick. Try the salmon bento . Trendy .

bento boxes that don't leave you feeling gross- get the Salmon one. Go on the rooftop .

Johnny Mahoney

Go up on the roof garden !

Bohdan Hnatkovskyy

A nice place famous for meatballs . The spot is pretty basic, but roof deck is worth checking out.
