President Eisenhower, an avid golfer, installed the original putting green near the Rose Garden in 1954. Later, President Clinton enlisted a golf course architect to transfer it to its current place.

Thomas Jefferson's notes on gardening served as inspiration for President John F. Kennedy to improve the White House gardens , including the Rose Garden, where many outdoor ceremonies are held today.

If these walls could talk they could draw from weddings, funerals, performances , inaugural oaths & more that have all taken place in the East Room. In 1957, Eisenhower was sworn in as President here.
