I remember when you could drive down this road . Too many security folks nowadays. And there really isn't anything to see. Very dull (besides view of White House) and very trashy unclean walkway.
"Camping " discouraged, but some dedicated people have been holding a round-the-clock vigil for peace for more than thirty years. Hope DOES spring eternal!
Walk to the back of the monument for a more peaceful experience and killer view !

Can’t get right up to the fence anymore. There is additional fencing about 50 feet away from it
